The provenance of the laptop is considered dubious by all mainstream sources, and the entire operation has parallels with the Russian "Fancy Bear" operation against Emanuel Macron in 2017. The idea that Hunter Biden, a California resident under intense scrutiny form the right, would drop off an unencrypted laptop at a Delaware computer shop run by a Trump supporter, rather than use an Apple store or a local trusted repairer, is also considered dubious by mainstream sources. There are also reports of Burisma being hacked by Russian early in 2020, and multiple statements from connected individuals telegraphing the release before the event. At this time, no serious sources take the laptop at face value. Which simply means, while this whole thing has the same aroma of bovine excrement that I got to experience when I went on a road trip this weekend through farmland and drove past the beef processing facilities, they haven’t seen direct evidence that this is Russian generated BS. He gave the final push to an effort started earlier by the European Union, the IMF, and two US Senators to purge corruption from the Ukrainian government. The Washington Post has a detailed synopsis of Biden's side of that international anti-corruption effort, including interviews with some of the US staff involved in it. In fact, WaPo reports, the US ambassador publicly criticized the corrupt prosecutor for failing to fully cooperate with foreign agencies in their attempt to sanction the corrupt head of Burisma. This affair does raise some concerns about the judgment of Hunter Biden. If it comes up in the final presidential debate, the most important question to ask of Joe Biden is whether he intends to appoint his son Hunter to a major role in his administration like his opponent's daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
