first live performance of this era  they did so well (even tho the choreography is probably one of my least favorites of theirs)  outfits are more reminiscent of their old styling but they're not terrible.

If you listen very closely, you can faintly hear them sing with the backing track. Korean music show usually offer several degrees of live singing to the performing artists (they mix the live feed from the microphone with the vocals from the backing track).

30% (30% live mic feed, 70% backing track)
50% (50% live mic feed, 50% backing track)
70% (70% live mic feed, 30% backing track)
100% (100% live mic feed, no backing track)

K-Pop artists that do choreography usually cycle between 30%-70% depending on their stamina and the condition of their voice at that moment. 70% live mic feed is look upon as pretty amazing and is usually reserved for artists who are REALLY confident in their live vocals while dancing. 100% live mic feed is usually reserved for performing ballads while standing still. This performance of Blackpink is obviously a 30% one.  

This show (Music Core) is very specific about there being at least SOME degree of live singing, because K-Pop artists back in the day used to lip sync to a pre-recorded track (from studio vocals that were recorded earlier that day), that were purposefully imperfect to make it seem like they were singing live. Other music shows in Korea still allow that, Music Core is the only show that doesn't.

This is a K-POP thing that annoys me absolutely! 

 

every live performance the bands singing live but  rhe backing track is playing so loud that it is no backing track anymore and u can hardly hear the live vocals. 

There are some proofs that the kpop bands are singing liveCheck out 'boca' from dreamcatcher. U can hear their live vocals over the track really good 

 

On topic: The lovesick girl performance is so good! The choreo is not their best but still super catchy! I love Rosés voice in that song but it's a shame that y cant hear their live vocals

I have a feeling that BLACKPINK gets promoted as models and dancers and not as performers... which is sad cause they are talented as hell!
