So female nurses are not allowed to be sexual? Sounds like bullshit sexism to me. The depicted nurse in the video was not even sexual

No it’s “maybe now isnt the time to put a nurse in the video for no reason other than to be in a nurse costume in the middle of a pandemic”

please enlighten me to death

You can literally add “in the middle of a pandemic “ to any sentence and justify bigotry lol

You can literally just say anything is bigotry just because you aren’t willing to see the other side of the situation

they’re removing the scene, which means it’s clearly not essential

please enlighten me to death

The amount of recognition and respect people have been giving to healthcare workers especially during the pandemic should be enough for them to thing “maybe let’s not put a sexy nurse”

The girl wasn't even doing anything sexual in the video. She was just sitting there and singing. Her outfit wasn't even provocative lol.

And Knet complaining about it being too sexual also feels sexist to me. If BTS dressed as shirtless doctors, fangirls/fanboys would be creaming themselves, and no one would be complaining.

I don't personally agree with the view that this scene is sexualizing anything, but I did think it was insensitive toward those with mental health issues and also a little sexist. This is a stereotypical "crazy woman" trope and depicts her in what I interpret as a fashionable strait jacket in a mental institution simply because she is emotional / "lovesick." The tone of the scene is also dark, reinforcing the stereotype that getting treatment is scary or negative.

With that said, I love the song and the album, and I enjoyed the rest of the video. But I did have a reaction to this scene. I know some will think I'm being too sensitive, but I wanted to share my take.

First and foremost, I totally get and respect your point of view

However, I personally interpreted it the other way round

Like, she needed help because her relationship made her have anxiety, depression or whatever else it is and it helped her get out of it and now she’s dancing with her friends to celebrate their single-ness as in “it’s not the end of the world, we made it and so can you”

So I saw it more as an empowering thing. Something that is “de-dramatizing” seeking for help (whether it be friends or therapy).

We don’t really need to talk too much, show each other what we know 🦋

They said it was not intentional and they apologize to everyone of the nurse profession that might have felt uncomfortable.

Previously lots of KNetz complains that those scenes sexualizes and disrespectful to nurse profession.

Wow, censorship everywhere nowadays, soon we'll go back to the 1950s

Idk it reminded me of this

It's been done by men and women in music videos. If we get offended by everything in the artform there's no hope

Do they also complain about the thousands of girls who dress as sexy nurses for Halloween? :bear:

Or male strippers who dresses up as police officers, firefighters...I mean we all know especially how firefighters risk their lives everyday to save lives, should americans and especially new yorkers be offended by it? We all know in 9/11 how many firefighters lost their lives, isnt it disrespectful that male strippers then dresses up as their job in a sexualised way?

Isn't dressing up as a dead Marilyn Monroe in Halloween disrespectful to her? When we all know she had a mysterious death and always said she never wanna be seen as a "joke"? Isn't wearing a LAPD or FBI shirt or sweatshirt disrespectful too? I've seen it many stores selling them, they even have army jackets and pants. Isnt it disrespectful when we know many of them die in mission and we wear their garments for fashion?

We should stop all of this if we wanna stop being hypocrites.

And dressing up as a Bunny is disrespectful to animals who are still being killed everyday, animal rights organization could one day say it's disrespectful are we all gonna stop the playboy bunny disguise for Halloween or wherever else?

It’s a sexy profession, role play costume, it’s nothing new. Why do people choose to be offended when typically non problematic people decide to do something innocent? Make it make sense.
