Not all arab people are muslims.... thats a misunderstanding people have. Just because you come from an arabic country does not mean you are muslim, for one.

The audio is so distorted I wouldn't be surprised if Rihanna and/or her music supervisor had no clue but the way they unveil the model at the end of this clip is honestly suspicious.

She has apparently done this in the past.

Tbf you also have to right to open up the discussion. If you’re not willing to then you really can’t be surprised that others who aren’t Muslim haven’t. Not saying anyone should turn a blind eye to things that don’t affect them personally but people do most sometimes. If it’s something that you want to discuss then open up the conversation and others will surely join.

I can definitely do that, but I'm saying it's just that this "anger" is really fake since this is not real aggression towards Muslims. Most muslims probably won't hear about this, but it's people wanting to  display themselves as better people because they just learned what a hadith is 5 minutes ago and now want to be outraged because someone on twitter told them to be.

I think people are oversensitive in general, nowadays. Everybody’s just looking for a reason to get offended.

But Islamic people have always been doing too much whenever someone mentioned Allah or tried to criticize their religion. Let’s not pretend this isn’t true. :rip:

Based on cultural production in the US, I don't get the feeling that rebellion is codified in other Abrahamic religions quite like it is in Catholicism. I think Madonna in particular is so good at utilizing blasphemy because a lot of Catholics think just like her. Both Gaga and Madonna are who they are because the Church is camp af.

“Catholicism feels like my alma mater. It's the school I used to go to, and I can go back any time I want and take whatever I want from it because I suffered all the oppression, and all the abuse — and also enjoyed all the pomp and circumstance, the drama and the confusion and the hypocrisy and the craziness," she says. "I feel like I can say whatever I want and do whatever I want. I've been ex-communicated by the Catholic Church a few times. But I also feel like this new pope is kind of groovy, and I think we might be able to get together and have a chat about sex.”

While people obviously shouldn't be killed for depicting Muhammad, the Hebdo shooting made me sympathic to sensible people who don't feel comfortable with others depicting their prophet because I am a normal person... it's not hard, I promise.

What about Madonna remixing Kabbalah from 1998-2006? She wasn't rebeling or Catholic then.

I cant believe people here are this Islamaphobic and ignorant. If Rihanna had done something homophobic 90% of people here would  already burried her alive but i guess some of you think being atheist or being from another religion gives you right to mock it.

Don't you all understand it is not about just Islam?Just because other people mock Christianism doesn't mean it is ok to do it or it is ok to mock other religions as well.If it is misogynistic then it is misogynistic dont even dare sugar coat the situation or underestimate it.

And don't ever dare pulling "aLL rEliGiOns aRe wAcK" bs ever again most of y'all here pushing 30s but acting like edgy teenagers .

You are not cool you sound ignorant asf

Ugh...stop defending religions when they aren’t even being attacked.

Islam is still fine. Muslims are still fine. They’ve survived this particular performance. It didn’t target or hurt any pillars supporting their religion.

People have the right to be offended by it, sure. Other people also have the right to use religious material for their art, or to even criticise dogmatic concepts in religion.

It’s ok to be offended, but move on. Don’t support censorship to feel less offended.

I'm wondering if you're even pushing 14 based on this comment I'm sorry :awkney: It's Christianity and misogyny has nothing to do with this :neyde:

I understand where you come from in your sympathy for people who are offended by depictions of the prophet. That's because you are likely a kind and tolerant left leaning person like myself. Please also realise however that the reason it is offensive in Islam to depict or mock Allah, is because in their book the god character says that any who do so should be killed.

If Rihana did something homophobic it would directly target a human right issue, but if you sample from a religion, you target the religion and not the people, that is why some people defend her. Why do you think Rihanna is mocking the religion? To me I'm undecided about it (and my opinion is irrelevant since the majority of muslims are offended) but Im curious to know ur opinion

I totally agree! I mean it sounds like a chopped up remixed song.If someone is offended and is Muslim I’ll respect that but usually it’s the people who don’t even understand who are the most outraged. That’s just classic GGD behavior mate!  :vegas:

I think your viewpoint is a bit flawed. You should always support freedom of speech even if it offends you. If it's not hate speech then you should support it. And if you don't know what satire is, people should educate themselves about it and open their minds a little bit.
