Over a million votes for Biden and Trump have already been cast and millions more ballots are printed with their names. In all likelihood, the election would be stalled after a huge legal mess. Pelosi would be sworn in as president on Jan 20th (or sooner if Pence was out of commission too) and an entirely new election would be held with candidates that the parties choose. It was, at best, tasteless. Sure, those people had a right to react to the AIDS pandemic that way, but we had a right to point out just how inhumane and cruel they were. Having lived through the era when AIDS was a death sentence, and it was decimating the gay community, I will not wish anyone, not even my worst enemy, to get a deadly virus. I didn't wish he would get the virus, but I believe he deserves absolutely no sympathy in this moment. He created the conditions for 200,000+ Americans to die of this virus. He created the conditions in which his staff was exposed. He created the conditions that led to him getting personally infected. On the day he likely got infected, he mocked his political opponent for wearing a mask (on top of telling white militant supremacists to "standby"...). Trump has been out there denying the science from day one, mocking people who wear masks, tweeting that we need to "liberate" states under lockdown, etc. Trump getting infected wasn't an act of God, it was an inevitable result of his own reckless incompetence and failure to protect his fellow Americans.
