Gaga discusses ‘Chromatica’ with American Songwriter

pop ate my heart

Some of you are so obsessed with taking agency from Gaga and placing it on other people and it doesn't matter what Gaga says you'll always find a way to discredit her and twist her words.

We have people crediting her career to RedOne, people acting like Chromatica is Bloodpop's record despite the emphasis on how it's about GAGA and HER journey through depression. It's deliberate and sad.

If you don't like the album just say so instead of coming up with mental gymnastics to justify your very low opinion of Gaga.

Have you ever struggled with depression? Sometimes my friends would have to literally drag me out of the house to see a movie or get something to eat, and it's not because I don't like movies or food, it's because depression tricks you into thinking staying in bed (or smoking on a porch) is all you're capable of doing.

Gaga is saying her friend Bloodpop encouraged her to make music when she thought she couldn't. That's it. He said, come on, we're doing this. And then she did it -- she wrote personal music and lyrics. Like, without him who knows where she'd be, and y'all would still be sitting here whining about an LG6 that isn't coming.

Yes, i struggled with depression and i think that if she was so uninspired she should’ve just waited before releasing an album that is basically not her idea. I mean ffs Bloodpop even chose the name of the album. I get that she was depressed but i feel like she should’ve taken control of the album instead of letting bloodpop decide every single thing only cause she did not feel like doing it. I know i’m a little harsh but i gotta be honest

I think you probably just aren’t a fan of the album so you’re purposefully misinterpreting and twisting her words. If what you’ve taken away from Gaga speaking about the album is that she forced it out and doesn’t feel passionate about it then you’re not paying attention. Just say you don’t enjoy the album and move on.

I like some songs on the album and 911 is literally one of my fave Gaga songs but i just feel like this album wasn’t her idea. Bloodpop literally chose the name of it and i think this says a lot.

Gaga didn't let Bloodpop decide on every single thing though :smh:

You literally just proved the OP’s point lmfao. You don’t like the album so you interpret her words as “I wasn’t passionate so I let Bloodpop do everything bc I don’t care I just had to release something lol”

It sounds like this is literally Bloodpop’s album :bear:

Also the fact that they wrote 100 songs and they chose a lot of fillers... :bear:

My opinion about this album gets worser with every interview

Is this your thing? To rile people up? Like, everyday?

Nah you just didn’t understand the complexity behind Gaga’s words. Not everyone is capable of so don’t get sad

The girl wrote 100 songs on LG6 and she included 4 bad remixes on the November box set. Girl stop being stingy with your music :yennefer::ladyhaha:

Seriously, I hope she'll release a record full of some old unreleased songs she worked on from her past albums

I doubt it tbh, I can only see that happening if she dies or something like they did with Michael

Sad that after all these years still even some of her own fans don’t believe that Gaga has autonomy over her artistic choices and releases. She has said time and time again how personal this is for her. Stop placing so much focus on the men she goes into the studio with.

Sis, some people won’t understand mental illness until they experience it. Thats what makes it so hard to feel that you’re accepted despite that devil on your shoulder.

Are we really out here demanding agency from severely depressed and knowingly suicidal individuals? Wow.

So she says Fun Tonight is to herself, makes sense. The whole "you love the paparazzi, love the fame" rumors about Carino made no sense to me given how personal the whole album is.
