Again, I cant understand the stupidity of "lockdowns works, but they still need hard restrictions 6 months later to continue to work" or "lockdowns dont work in california, because people in south dakota dont wear masks". Ok. what is so hard to understand about the fact that lockdowns are in place to make sure the nursing staff are not overrun? there is a worldwide shortage of nurses, how do you want to take care of all those sick people who would all have needed ic care without a lockdown? NO ONE has said in recent months that the lockdowns are in place to wipe out covid. sidenote: If all hospitals get overrun by Covid19 patients in critical condition, regelar care will get impossible as well (operations etc.)

Italy had so many deaths because they didnt lockdowned and yet they lockdowned and continued to have the deaths. I also cant handle this false morality. You care about "people dying" from covid, but ignore the costs of lockdowns aka future deaths from hunger ( or we shouldnt care because most of these wont happen in US and Europe?), undetected illnesses, mental health. I'm not gonna even go into economic effects. But hey, let's pretend that deaths from covid matter more than other types of deaths and let's ignore all the data that show us who is at risks and who isnt and make the same rules for all people. About Italy, people were still dying after locking down because the incubation period of Covid-19 can last up to 14 days. They died from a disease they got a week or two ago. Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

Don't people realize that the more hosts this virus has, the higher chance that it will mutate and be WAY worse? That the vaccines we've been developing could become completely useless? That's what happen with the Spanish Flu (that killed 50 MILLION PEOPLE!!!!). It lied pretty dormant for a summer but had enough hosts to mutate and came back WAY harder the following winter. And FIFTY MILLION PEOPLE DIED. Please, please just have compassion for your fellow humans, let's continue to support each other, and we'll eventually get a vaccine and stamp this thing out over time. Actually when viruses mutate it is mostly to become less deadly, they mutate so that they can survive longer in a host and thus spread further. A viruses MO isnt to kill its to survive so most mutations end up with the virus becoming less lethal. And that is not how the Spanish flu went. There were a few different strains (as there is now of covid) and the people with mild symptoms stayed at home. Thus the weaker version died out. People with the severe strain were in camps and overcrowded army bases with poor sanitation and it spread and killed people.

It spread so fast because of where the mutated virus started in army camps with troops etc this isn't the same as what you put. You have just assumed mutation equals severe loss of life when infact usually it means less loss of life.it was unfortunate that the Spanish flu mutation which was deadly took a hold, but it only took hold because of the severe overcrowding. And poor sanitation. My dispute with you is that you assume a mutation = bad when infact its more likely that it'd be good.

Much of the high death rate can be attributed to crowding in military camps and urban environments, as well as poor nutrition and sanitation, which suffered during wartime. It’s now thought that many of the deaths were due to the development of bacterial pneumonias in lungs weakened by influenza. 3. The first wave of the pandemic was most lethal Actually, the initial wave of deaths from the pandemic in the first half of 1918 was relatively low. It was in the second wave, from October through December of that year, that the highest death rates were observed. A third wave in spring of 1919 was more lethal than the first but less so than the second. Scientists now believe that the marked increase in deaths in the second wave was caused by conditions that favored the spread of a deadlier strain. People with mild cases stayed home, but those with severe cases were often crowded together in hospitals and camps, increasing transmission of a more lethal form of the virus

OK maybe I misunderstood what you were getting at, I presumed you just thought mutation equals mass death when its usually the other way round. At present they think covid is mutating at a normal rate compared to any other coronavirus so at least we ain't on the brink of extinction...yet.
