Lock him up!

On top of not paying his taxes, taking government handouts for his multi-billion dollar corporation, then claiming regular people don't need the same help corporations got in stimulus relief, he has no remorse nor care nor empathy at all for all those affected by this virus.

It's corruption and criminal pure and simple.

Btw once scientifically validated and determined safe through thorough, sufficient clinical trials, getting the vaccine should be mandatory for everyone. People like him should not be able to refuse vaccines, that puts all public health at risk :triggered:

I can understand that. The vaccine has had such a short test run compared to other usual vaccines. But I, will be first in line as I am high risk along with my entire immediate family.

I'm also high risk but I think I'll wait for a well-tested vaccine anyway. I can't trust untested vaccines and frankly I'd rather stay isolated and on my own then have to deal with potential vaccine effects. But that's a personal choice eventually.

But seriously, why are the lokcdowns even a thing when masks + social distancing are already like 99% effective?

I'm absolutely not an anti-masker and I don't deny Covid, I'm not stupid, but why completely ruin the economy and people's immune systems (which require vitamin D from sunlight to work properly) when we don't really have to?

Oh. You're assuming people are actually doing those things.😅 lolz

Also your vitamin D comment is interesting. Lockdown is different for different places. I know in China people weren't let out their apt without a written reason. In the US, we were told not to leave for anything but groceries, necessities and essential work. People were scared and no one had info, so they listened. Streets were deserted.  I still wonder how a non-cooperative lockdown would be enforced at this point.😬

Yup, and moreover, in the US, we never fully locked down, and some states didn't institute any sort of lockdown. We also have states with no mask mandates.

And even in places with various mandates, people violate them right and left. Just on my Facebook feed alone I see numerous people having in-person gatherings with no masks or social distancing, and my fitness center violated the governor's orders and opened up when they weren't supposed to. The reality is many Americans don't want to do their part in controlling the pandemic and keeping the economy open. They "can't breathe" with masks, and masks are a violation of their rights. It's their "right" to party with as many people as they'd like whenever they'd like. They still going out with a cough or fever, some even knowing they have Covid. We are an ignorant and selfish society.

Most places are not under strict lockdown any more. Only select businesses are still effected, like restaurants, but in most states even they can can open back up despite being the riskiest places (if they survived the initial lockdown at least).

The lockdowns also occurred when people still thought masks did nothing (which I can’t blame them for, considering major health organizations were disparaging masks at the time), so people legitimately thought they were the only way.

Lastly, vitamin d supplements exist.

Again, this is misinformation at best. All illnesses have effects on your body, even the flu, so this isnt unusual in any way.

I also find these "studies" not credible. They dont make any sense, considering that most studies say that 50-90% of people are asymptomatic. How can 90% be asymptomatic and yet only 1 in 5 young adults make recoveries in under 3 weeks? :triggered:

The studies I mentioned are being conducted by some of the best research schools in the United States (University of California San Francisco and Yale). They're not being done a in a backyard somewhere.

I'm assuming they're reference 1 in 5 with symptoms? I'm not sure.

There is also a ton of research being done on asymptomatic patients as "asymptomatic" might not even be a real thing with this virus. Here is a quote from Scripps Translational Research Institute in La Jolla, CA:

"Researchers who have scanned the hearts and lungs of people who tested positive for COVID-19, but never felt ill, have seen telltale signs of distress.

In the lungs, scientists have reported cloudy white areas called “ground glass opacities” in asymptomatic patients. Ground glass opacities are also seen patients with more severe COVID-19.

Across four different studies of people with asymptomatic infections, about half have had ground glass opacities on CT scans."

This is a virus we simply don't know enough about. We are in the infancy stages of research so those concluding this isn't dangerous enough to warrant mandatory precautionary measures are misinformed / misguided (which I blame our leadership for... not those individuals).

Lockdowns for small cases of the virus is obviously not efficient or needed. But if there are 30k cases in 24 hours what do u advice for this country to do? I'd be curious to know.

unknown.png

False, after the lockdown the deaths went down (see graph above). 0 deaths is impossible to achieve but less than 800 a day is significant for a country that had significant amount in 24 hours.

If hospitals are overwhelmed with cases and people coming in danger of deaths, they wont be able to take care of those who need their dialisis and cancer treatments. If you can make hospitals feel less overwhelmed, it improves the treatment of other issues in this world. And I'm not saying that it's perfect. There has been people if not ALL businesses who are struggling right now. To me it would make more sense if you were against businesses, restaurants bars to close at a certain hour, as though corona is gonna leave at a certain hour and yet transport system is still open where ppl are stuck together like sardines. To me THAT doesnt make sense but being against lockdowns when it's what helped many countries to control the number of cases in 24 hours is so illogical to me. Unless u have another idea that wouldve been more efficient in your opinion in handling this. But doing nothing is not better than doing something just saying.

So I assume you think lockdowns for people at risks would've been better which proves you don't think the virus is unstable and mutates and can kill children and young people just as much as someone whos 90, which many survived the virus. This virus has a mind of its own, it's a NEW one we barely know why it behaves the way it does, but you are 100% certain that doing nothing wouldve been the best outcome for everyone. Even Italy lol it's comical tbh

1. Tell that to Australia and New Zealand.

2. Check Sweden or Japan. The graphs are similar.

Nobel prize winner Michael Levitt said months ago that the graphs are the same for the countries who lockdowned and those who didnt. Why is that? Because the impact of lockdowns is limited on this type of virus. The only difference is if the virus was there or not and I'm mentioning again Australia and New Zealand, where lockdowns continue to "work" only with massive restrictions.

For me, it is clear that other factors are more important than the same restrictions for everybody.

3. I dont think that any civilised country has problems right now with hospitals, but even today there are a lot of restrictions and postponed screenings and other medical interventions.

4. I'm totally against the things you are mentioning and I also said in other threads that I dont understand why the pubs, clubs need to close at a certain hour.

But u see. That's the problem. Who is making these restrictions? The same people who made the first restrictions. That should at least make us asks more questions.

And when "doing nothing is not better than doing something " has transformed in "let's pretend we are doing something, so people dont say we are doing nothing"?

5. I understood the lockdowns at the start. But I dont understand why we ignore the information we are getting. The risks are not the same for everybody.

And this "mutate" thing is stupid. Every virus can mutate tomorrow. Yes, we should be ready to act when we discover the mutation or the new information, but until then we cant ignore the information we got in these 9 months.

"Lockdowns have been proved to save lives".

Where? :triggered:

it's the opposite. The cost of lockdowns will be long term. From hunger to cancer to mental health, lockdowns have effects that people dont want to see for the moment.

The effectiveness of lockdowns doesnt exist. 90%of the world had them, but they "worked" only in places like New Zealand and Australia and they continue to "work" 6 months later by keeping their people locked up in their houses. :applause:

In opposition, places like Japan, Taiwan, Sweden didnt need a lockdown to keep covid under control.

Covid under control? :billie: In Sweden? :billie: They literally just said ”Corona? Idk her” and put the citizens in danger :billie:

I mean, they did get it under control eventually but they literally did nothing about it when it was making ppl sick

The lockdown in my country was actually pretty similar to the Chinese one, it's just sad imo that so many countries had to undertake the most strict measures out there due to so much misinformation everywhere about the masks and the virus itself (like that it was made in a lab etc) :selena:

What's your country? What did the govt set up in the meantime? Are you less restricted now?

Well, if the reference is for 1 in 5 people with symptoms that basically changes everything.

Again, I read your article and I see a lot of red flags. There is basically no data about how many asymptomatic people were screened, in how many they found "ground glass opacities" or how unusual is this from other illnesses.

I get u dont know everything about it, but that doesnt mean we should ignore what we learned about it.

I am refusing to comment on this because anything I say will be insulting because I do not think I can say it otherwise, and I kinda don't want to get pancakes for other people's idiocy.

But y'all know what I think :ohwell:
