AOC would be ready to run for president in 2028, so I would like to see Harris in 2024 and AOC in 2028 (AOC can’t run in 2024 because she will be too young).  Biden appears to want to be a one-term president.

I would love to see AOC come up to the podium saying “President of the United States”. I have a weakness for latinas [1] and for people who work to reduce income inequality and give power to the poor [2]

But, since we are in a Democracy (Republic, actually), it’s not what I want; it’s what the voters want.

[1] Yes, I am well aware and fully respect AOC is spoken for. But that doesn’t stop her from being beautiful.

[2] The underlying ideas are at least 2,000 years old.

Yes, it is a very privileged position for me to demand something from out politicians, especially something as simple as health care. So very privileged.

Anyone who is voting for Joe Biden and has convinced themselves that they are doing anything to change our system is a fool. He has promised his donors that nothing will fundamentally change. 

I agree with you here. 

I will say that I have resigned to vote for Biden this time (I wrote in 3rd party in 2016). The only reason I am voting for Biden is in hopes that the dems also take the senate. The progressive movement gained steam when Obama was elected because he started governing as a republican instead of the progressive he ran on. I am hoping that same energy comes when Biden will 100% govern as a republican if he wins. 

I also think that if Biden wins that the progressive movement could also be over for the next few decades. The dems and establishment will learn the wrong lesson that corporatism is a winning strategy and not because of covid and the colossal circumstances that come with this election year. If Biden loses the lesson learned will be that he went too far left. I think the better outcome is for Biden to win and fail to deliver to the people so that when Bernie V 3.0 comes out whoever that may be the people will be 100% on board with voting for that person and associated agenda.

The debate had a clear winner:

The poll by NBC News and The Wall Street Journal, which was published Sunday and conducted in the two days following the debate, showed Biden leading Trump by double digits—or 14 percentage points. While the incumbent Republican president was backed by just 39 percent of registered voters, the Democratic candidate was supported by 53 percent. That marks Biden's largest lead over Trump in a poll conducted by NBC/WSJ.

Biden has his own issues with regard to race; so, stop. Implicit racism is just as bad as explicit racism.

Do we have to mention all the existing "isms" that Trump is also guilty of? And the taxes? And the scandals?

What's important here is that despite Biden having issues too, Democrats actually expect him to have some morals and he'll get blasted if he doesn't. So even if he's a racist he won't be able to govern like one.

If you have the energy to teach grown adults why white supremacy is bad, please do so. But at the end of the day these people DESERVE to be beat with sticks and insults.

Would you rather have trump who is ready to gut medicaid and Medicare even further, or biden who at least wants to expand coverage and invest in those programs? I too want Medicare for all, but that's clearly not a choice at the table right now so what good will protesting by not voting do to directly support this cause? If trump wins it will only get us further away from this issue you care deeply about...
