It wasn’t a debate in some parts. It was a pissing contest featuring some d*** measuring and a “who can do more pushups in their 70’s” challenge. Unbelievable nauseating. I was happy when Biden told him to shut up and said he was the worst president America has ever had.

I SCREAAAMMEEDDD. I ain’t know Biden was gon snap like tha :messga: Its so not him. The disrespect whew. Maybe I need to rewatch but I think Biden was ruder to Trump, than the other way around.

Well tea, but at least Bernie would snap in his points. They really gotta implement mic muting regardless... this talk over talk is not acceptable for a presidential debate I’m so sorry

I agree with that Bernie is faster on his feet.

Again, I don't understand why y'all are like, "Both of them were a mess."

Trump was the objective mess here :selena: Were there moments where Biden came back at Trump by calling him a "clown" and the "worst president ever"? Absolutely, but in comparison to Trump, that's literally nothing.

I'm watching some coverage of the debates right now, and it baffles me that people thought they they were both awful. Biden didn't have a stellar performance, sure, but he was at the very least more civil, calm, and collected than Trump. I don't even really like Biden all that much, but it makes me wonder if we were all watching the same debate if some of your responses are, "Both of them were a mess. Both of them did awful."

EDIT - Also, there's a lot of inconsistency when it comes to how people think Joe Biden should've reacted to Trump. First some of y'all say, "Biden should've been more aggressive," but then you also say, "He looked childish calling Trump a 'clown' and the 'worst president ever'" :smh: Like, make up your mind.

Bernie: and what about it? :billie::nails:

Trump: :bear::madge:

Oh god, I would've loved to see this so much :bradley:

It would've been 10x crazier than this debate though cause we all know that Bernie can dish it out just as much as Trump :bradley:

I agree he shouldn’t have gone to those extremes but after a while you can only expect so much patience when you keep poking the bear. The entire evening was more comical than anything. Was like watching an episode of Real Housewives :billie:

I mean, Trump was objectively worse and he made the most of the debate - and I'm using that term veeeeeery loosely - incomprehensible. But let's not act like Biden did anything better than "passable". Not even "OK". There were absolutely zero satisfactory answers to any of the policy related questions from both candidates.

Anyways destroy Trump pls thanks.

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

Political ideology aside, we both know Bernie would have done a better job debating Trump.

He would have done the same as Bernie, resisted a shouting match.

I thought biden had a cogent response to the climate change topic and a generally positive response addressing law enforcement reform/racial sensitivity training. There was still a severe lack on both sides in the racial justice/racism segment though.

Also does anybody feel that the last segment about the election legitimacy just fueled trump's tactic of discrediting the election if he loses? It like set that up for him to use. Ugh

Well I must say, I'm very disappointed. And I'm not even American.

Imagine being a struggling American who wants better for themselves and their family, and having to watch THAT. Where is the glimmer of hope?

I don't think we can blame it all on Trump's bulldozing. When they both got the chance to speak, there was not an ounce of problem-solving or coherent agendas.

I stopped watching because I felt sad for any struggling Americans, and all Americans tbh. These are the potential "leaders" of a nation? Bye.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

There wasn't any satisfactory answers to policy related questions because how could anyone get a word in when Trump's interrupting you literally every other second?

Biden's best moments were when he talked directly to the camera, uninterrupted. If we had more of that, then this debate would've been very different, but the reality is that Trump just threw all the rules out the window and did whatever he wanted to do. Biden handled himself better than I thought he would've.

I'm definitely taking my camping trip in the first week of November. I can handle the nerves :toofunny:

I'm thinking the same. There's an off-the-grid cabin out in the woods somewhere with my name on it.

Except Bernie would have actually been able to put Trump in his place and Biden did not do that at any point except for when he stood up for his son which was the only good thing I have to say about Biden's performance last night.

All things considered - and by "all things", I mean Trump throwing any sense of restraint and decorum out the window - Biden did a stellar job. Separating what he was saying from Trump's yapping, he made a ton of sense, and I hope the next few nights are handled differently.
