What boggles my mind the most is that we're talking about the US here. The country with a weird bipartisan system where a candidate has to go through dozens of levels, make their way at the top of a party full of millionaires on either side, etc. The competition is literally insane on both sides. Here in Canada you're rarely a "big" politican until you reach the government, and even then we see our politicians as just people who climbed up the ladder.

So you're telling me that these two clowns somehow made it to the final 2 in probably the most frontloaded political system in the world? How tf does that happen

Eh, I disagree that there was a "clear loser" among those two. While of course Trump was way worse when it came to any substance (the amount of misinformation he spread during that 90 min was... well it was a lot), Trump did a much better job at controlling the narrative and sticking to his right-wing talking points.

One of my biggest problems with this debate (besides Biden not fighting back) was Trump telling his supporters to go to the polls and "observe". Imagine wtf will untrained, unhinged, and armed supporters will do as they watch people vote. Jesus Christ

I agree, but Trump's incessant interrupting even transcends politics. If people aren't able to look at this debate and see that Trump isn't a civil, honest human being, then they've got some serious issues. In terms of policy, honestly there wasn't much discussion of that to analyze. Most of what we heard tonight dealt with personal blows between the two, but it was clear that Trump was psychotic and crazy. 

Policy should obviously be in the foreground of what people are discussing, but just going by the nature of the two here, I think it's very evident who our next president should be.

He did, and in all, Biden did look "weak" compared to Trump, but honestly, when it comes to a screaming match, Trump is going to win that 10 times out of 10. 

What Biden needed to do tonight was look calm, collected, and civil, and I think for the most part he did that. He actually did better than I expected him to (but that's not saying much).

Trump bullsh*tted his way to the top.

Biden is a career politician with name recognition who was the VP of the last administration. Democratic voters viewed him as their best chance to take Trump down and, despite supporting leftist policies, they weren't ready to commit to Sanders or Warren.

I agree with your last statement, but I think Biden did the right thing by not fighting back. People are already divided and the two candidates are already polarizing. This debate was awful, can you imagine how much more awful it would be if they were both yelling at each other? Let Trump look like a fool and a crazy man. Biden was the bigger person (in most instances) to not talk over Trump the way that Trump did.

PLEASE. Voting isn't enough. Harass your parents, relatives and friends. Harass them now to make them vote for Biden. Harass them on voting day until you have confirmation they voted. This is the only way we'll win this.
