You’re hard to talk to, so I won’t anymore. You can vote for whoever you want, but don’t be surprised when someone tries to tell you it isn’t productive. And don’t say they’re gaslighting you when they aren’t. Sharing opinions and facts isn’t manipulation.

Every single administration will create conditions for something else to happen. That’s how timelines and cause/effect works.

Yes, so blame Obama/Biden for having such a bad presidency for Trump.

Don't go vote for a continuation of that presidency.

Oh, I will vote for whoever I want.

Telling someone that they're voting for someone when they are not voting at all is most definitely gas lighting.

I hope you can understand this because your guy is gonna need you to do a lot more in order to get elected.

Perhaps start phone-banking? That would be more productive than shaming people, I'd bet!

I wasn’t asking you for suggestions.

Also, the “if you do this, it’s a vote for someone else” isn’t a factual statement - it’s an analogy/hyperbole. Nobody should believe it’s actually adding a vote to somebody else.

If a candidate literally will not listen to their potential voters, why the h*ll should anyone ever vote for them. That just doesn't make any sense at all.

He's taking more of a middle ground because not all of his potential voters think the same as you

He's taking more of a middle ground because he's bought off by billionaires.

His potential voters support M4A and a GND. He does not support these measures because he's paid by his donor not to.

He's a corrupt fraud.

I said pressuring, not shaming. There’s a difference. And honestly, people should be shamed if they don’t vote. ESPECIALLY in presidential elections. It’s their job as a citizen. You don’t seem to be understanding why people are pushing for Biden over Trump.

Biden 2020, but this is a stinky mindset to have.

Studies show the most likely non-voter, are people who are disheartened and were let down by the system. Both parties cater way more to the strong minority of rich people, the vast majority of Americans. No matter democrat or republican, roads in rural areas that support the whole planet stay unpaved, criminal justice is still a joke, debt, climate, blah blah blah. That should embarrass leadership, but they’re too rich and corrupt to care.

Plus, local elections > presidential ones. Look at how Trump flopped in building his wall. Thats thanks to people voting in others at the smaller level who stopped him from doing that. America isn’t a dictatorship. People should honestly vote, but for everyone but the top of the ticket is a nice middle ground. Not voting isn’t a “blah I’m too privileged to care” issue (even the government already works for them).

Taking a stance halfway between fantasy (ruthless crony capitalism for the 1%) and reality (science and research based real solutions that benefit like 80% of America), maybe works for the Born This Way era, but politics?

But all the news talks about is culture (near irrelevant.exe) so ofc he seems moderate.

And yes not all of his potential voters think like @TheQueenLG, but most do so... :bear:

Of course it isn’t ideal but it’s all we have right now. We don’t have a chance of a better candidate beating Trump. Don’t you think we wish we did?

To some, not me. She doesn’t support mandatory paid maternity leave and a few other things, last time i checked. Either way, she doesn’t have a chance to beat Trump

Some do, some don’t - bc they think Biden/Hillary were perfect and think the main reason she lost was cultural issues. But the big secret is that of course far right populism is the response neoliberal corporatism.

Might sound like a smartass (I’m dumb chile lmao), but I feel better now realizing a Trump-like candidate win in 2016 was actually kinda logical (not in a vacuum of course).

Its (kinda) like America suffers sever depression. Every waking hour is extreme unproductive agony (when Republicans win), and it longs for the hours of nightly sleep it gets when problems fall to the side and it can pretend nothing bad happens. (when Democrats win) All while the option of therapy is out there, but apparently is too hard to achieve (when Independents barely win).

So like, I totally get the tuning out people do post-primary.

But also, in regards to my analogy, Trump 2020 kinda really does seems like actively hurting yourself more than you need to while being awake... so yeah. **** that.

Solutions: Cyberbully Joe Biden to do ****, cancel the myth of scarcity by calling them out when they try and use the courts/virus as an excuse to be lazy, and actually care about the 2022 elections 💀

i don't think i've bypassed an election result. even in 2016 with the electoral college. the fact of the matter is, that is the rule of the game and has been that way for 200 years. you just have to play by it. do i like it? no, but until an amendment or some other invalidation of it comes through, that's the rules of the game.

which is why with RBG's passing, i'm pretty much consigned to the fact that that seat will be filled by republicans before election day because they have control of the senate and the presidency and that's just how things go.

edit:

in relation to the OP, well i'm not surprised. i've been of the belief for some time now that the transition of power (if any) will not be smooth and that a tumultuous transition is the best i'm hoping for rn :selena: bc at least there will be a transition.

Anyone that thinks Biden or Clinton was an ideal candidate is not the brightest bulb. Still better than trump, tho.
