like always, off-GGD time because this biggest fandom enemy is itself. I can't risk myself be exposed to collective buzzkill. maybe see you in next 24 hours, and I advise you who kinda can't handle it to do the same lol

The 911 video proves that Little Monsters are their own biggest enemy and that we all need to pop a 911.

truly a reverse warholian expedition :sis:

Eek @ the elitism from folks saying people who don’t like the video don’t understand its complexity or intricacy. Tone it down y’all. Just as people can express dislike without saying something is tacky or cheap, y’all can also express your contrary opinion without leaping into classist rhetoric over a pop girl’s music video.

take a breather and do ya thing

I haven’t had an opportunity to watch but judging by the fact that the entire thread is telling people not to complain I know it’s not good :bear:

No it’s honestly amazing, her deepest video since GUY or maybe the BTW era. And the message was executed better than some of those actually. Definitely one of those “only gaga could do this” moments, which as much as I loved ROM, wasn’t that as much.

I'm getting so annoyed at all the twink reactions on youtube going "Oh my goooddddd, what is thiiissss?", talking over it and disrespecting the art that is 911. How about educate yourselves on some art and film history, sistren. This is the serve of the decade.

HOLY ****. Wow wow wow, I genuinely wasn't sure what to think about it for 3/4 of it, and then the last bit happened and I was like "OH WAIT, this is amazing."

I haven't read through this thread yet so many people might have said this already, but from my first watch, I'm interpreting this as the first 3/4 of the video are her when she is medicating herself (ie. drugs, alchohol, prescribed pills, medication, distractions, showbiz, etc). Everything is "beautiful" and extravagant, but she has moments of recognizing things are not right (the man pulling her down when she is floating) but she does her best to ignore it/can't recognize it. I think this represents how  she also has to really focus on the good and/or medicate herself because there are so many random moments or reminders that this is all a charade and the pain is truly there. Her life is basically masking pain/trauma that she genuinely can't handle.

The last bit of the video then, of course, shows her reality. She can mask her pain as much as she wants, but the truth is, without the things to cover it, she is full of pain, sadness, confusion, and terror. The whole video is one setting, but for the first 3/4 of the video, she is trying her best to interpret the setting in a positive way.

Very powerful video, and hopefully she continues to get help and work through this so she can feel genuinely at peace with her life.

It makes me so sad to hear all the negativity around 911. What is this "high-budget" obsession? The video is an example of perfect symmetry, and is a product of well-though research. Who would have thought one day Gaga will reference to a Soviet-Armenian art house masterpiece? The emotional catharsis of the video is beyond powerful. Manic, painful, and intentionally stiff movements are reflections of body spasms. Bicycle and innocence, pomegranates and fertility... all the dualities...

Laughing at people calling it CHEAP.

If there’s something this video was not is CHEAP.

Wake up.

I mean....the toy snake screams cheap though :selena:

but besides that the video was amazing. I rewatched it and avoided the end cuz it's so painful seeing Gaga's pain in the end. You can really feel it. I know what she meant when said she resists a dark place.

This! It really makes me feel awful because I feel as though I know her on a personal level.
It’s like seeing a member of family in pain 😭
