what kinda reductive, orientalist, psychomagical-realist, clunky metaphored video did we just witness...... I liked the narrative - opening and closing shots were epic and super impactful but I'm so dubious about the in-between. also Sarah? Ms Tanno? :triggered:

With that ending, this is actually the saddest music video I've ever watched :ohno: . First I was like "What the actual fvck is happening?". Then she awoke and saw the chaos - that hit differently and I can't even relate.

Ew, David!

Lol i just watched it withmy boyfriend and he was completely entraced and wanting more of the film.

Live for moments like these. She really got the "straight acting" audience. Not anymore the gays.

Anyways the very beginig is my favourite part, there were some great shots.  Just the colours alone with that kind of dress was a huge shock for a lady gaga anything.

I could live with none of those confusing dances and thousand dresses and have only the girl in the desert, the gaga giving a libra shakira with that smile (favourite part), the bridge scene and the guy randomly headkicking with the pillow.

Besides this and since gaga has always been like these, i just have to be honest im not catchig the references here at all. Feel like theres movie and maybe theatre references that im just not recognizing.

I knew sooner or later wed had a lg sponsorship. I lived tbh. Overall thats what makes me think this is all about the whole gaga vs stefani..

I liked her attitude very much. She wasnt imposing, it feels like a complete new energy, more relaxed. Shes exubering confidence in a complete new way. Her charisma is ever evolving

I like it, it's just so different I had to ask :huntyga: Budget seems smaller than ROM, but it's fine for me.

Smaller?

as opposed to a green screen, surely an on location shoot had a bigger budget than ROM...

I stupidly pressed play when it was still in the middle of the premiere as I was a few minutes late so I saw the last minute of it as soon as I clicked on it and was totally confused. I'm glad it didn't disrupt my enjoyment too much when I saw it properly but I wished I'd seen it all the way from the beginning.

I'm going to struggle to deal with all the stuff regarding this video because I'm going through such upheaval right now. A medical emergency on the day 911 came out was a really cruel irony. So, I'm finding this all a bit chaotic right now. But I do realise what she was trying to say. The way it all made sense at the end was very beautiful and the "life's good" slogan gave me a mild chuckle. It's going to take me a while to notice every little intricacy as it all goes by so quickly (I only just now noticed the girls with selfie sticks). I just hope the audience get it and the video doesn't override the song. But I definitely need some time to work out how I feel about it.

I really don't think so, this video cost a lot of money

Some of you hate it cause you were expecting choreography and fight scenes.

The muaic video made me feel uneasy, i was scared. The imagery, the religious references. The crazy movements and outfits. OMG. I have never felt so scared of Gaga.

A car accident + drugs = 911 (hallucinations)

This, and that in itself is a metaphor. Taking a lot of drugs is like yin yang. First you have the beauty of the high, then you have the ugly of the fall. This can be compared to her actual drug addiction and her journey through fame.

I really love it. The exotic dreamy ambiance is gorgeous and the conclusion is just... perfect. The movie aesthetic has strong Paradjanov's Color of Pomegranates and Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain vibes, which is cool cause I'm a huge fan of these movies...

Didn't read all threads about 911 video so sorry if this has already been said somewhere else.

Late to the party but I got a diamond heart

Someone on Twitter posted reality vs. What she saw and... while I still say not what I expected (would have loved a futuristic dance video) in the end - video wise, creativity wise, this is genius
