For example comparing the situation in Finland and Sweden: Finland 8,858 total cases 339 deaths Sweden 87,885 total cases 5,864 deaths To think that the battle against COVID-19 Is over is delusion. Those "restrictions" aren't comparable in any way to what we see in other countries and I think even those are dated. 500 people events are ok in Sweden + no lockdown, no masks, no schools closed. The virus is still here. Isn't it preferable for ten times as many people to catch the virus and 17 times as many people to die though???? Obviously Sweden did it better than Finland I also feel it's worth noting that Sweden reported 188 deaths today while Finland reported 18. How else can u compare countries with different population? Who basically approves every country strategy. They agree with lockdowns and yet they also agree with Sweden strategy. The problem with their strategy is that it does not matter if COVID-19 disappears from Sweden earlier than in rest of the world. As countries borders are open and people in Sweden want to travel the virus will spread until we have a vaccine and it could take many years. Many other countries, including Finland, try to flatten the curve so that their health care system can handle the pressure Covid-19 cases gives to it. If you think that Finland tried to "flatten the curve so that their health system can handle the pressure", I inform u that Sweden never had problems with hospitals, so Sweden did the same. "Oxygen masks" ( u mean ventilators?) arent working very well. We know that now. Sweden was wrong with its nursing homes strategy. They had the unfortunate "luck" to have a holiday exactly at the time of covid spread, but other than that, it is clear that it was the correct strategy. To put it in perspective: they had 2,5x times the deaths compared with a flu season. And this is the same all over the world. The countries who managed to control covidwith lockdowns, like Australia and New Zealand, are more isolated and they need to keep their people locked up in their house even now, so that their "lockdown can work". For New york, spain, italy, where the virus was already there, the lockdowns probably didnt do much. When u look at the deaths, it certainly doesnt look like they worked. Or did u mistake cases with deaths? The fact that Sweden simply has the numbers and yet people dont accept that their strategy worked better for them than the us, uk, spain strategies is worrying.
