Stupid question about Valentino

Is the Valentino fragrance unisex?

Several years ago, my boyfriend bought me Fame and tbh, I hardly wear it (It's not bad, just too floral smelling for me). He also bought me Eau De Gaga and I absolutely fell in love with it because it has somewhat of a masculine scent and is unisex. I wear it everyday and ordered several bottles to last me for the next few years.

I'm really excited about Valentino. I don't know much about the product (smell/scent wise), but I've seen several ads and I perceive it to be for men as well.

So is it unisex?

Also: Do we know what it smells like yet?

Thanks in advance

All i know is that both of these (Valentino & Fame) keep the mosquitos away because they're 20% bug spray.

Wait, is that really true? I've never heard of that

Not a lot of what I say is true.

It depends on how you define "True".

Is there bug spray in these fragrances, I don't think so.

So most likely, no, this claim is not true.

Conflicting informations:
- the first press release made it seem like it was going to be unisex
- then 2-3 weeks ago, the descriptions only talked about "woman", "women", "female" etc.
- the teasers for the ad show clear focus on both male and female models

Anyway, I got to smell it today, it's on my arm right now and it's a women's fragrance, but closer to being unisex than for example the very sweet, fruity and/or floral category of women's fragrances, which are more "typically female".

It's a warm scent, so it can count as quite unisex.
The scent itself isn't that groundbreaking, it reminds me of some others, but the mix is very well done! Eg. normally I don't like vanille in perfumes, but it's not overpowering and there is like a fresh note in the center of all the warmth that stays the whole time.

Loving it so far!

I think it's for women because it's described as a floral scent and I've heard people who have sampled it describe it as smelling very sweet and florally.

It isn’t as sweet/floral as I was expecting tbh, it certainly has some masculine notes imo but it probably leans towards a women‘s perfume

What does it matter? If you like it you should wear it - just read the fragrance notes on it and see if it has tones that you enjoy.

It is more on the floral side but it’s not as floral as fame. I find the scent to be beautiful and soft. I love it. That being said, it’s nothing unique smelling. The bottle is A+ .

Thank you so much for this detailed answer! Very insightful, I appreciate it

Does anyone know places I can sample it? Like Macy's or something?

Thanks! Some are considering it can be passed as unisex, so I want to sample it before I decide on purchasing a bottle. Where can I possibly sample it? Like at a Macy's?

P.S. I hope people aren't getting offended because I prefer to wear a masculine/unisex scent. I understand it's 2020 and it doesn't matter what I wear, but it's normal and only human to have preferences.

That's like getting offended if Gaga had a clothing line and I asked, "Does the clothing line have men's items?" and then people would respond: "It's 2020, wear a dress. It doesn't matter". Even though I'm a cis gay man and I generally prefer to wear men's clothes.

I do enjoy women's fragrances, but I don't prefer to purchase nor wear them and there's nothing wrong with that.
