Some Facebook Users Attempting to Declare September 15 "Burn The Mask Day"

Campaigns are spreading on Facebook to turn tomorrow into a day in which people will burn their masks. They are doing this as a protest against masks, believing that they are no longer needed and are "nonsense". This has created a degree of controversy as these events have been appearing all of Facebook, even in far right groups with 10K+ people in them.

Among the calls to burn masks, several pictures have also been shared.

Here is one of the most common ones:

Other pictures include slogans like "AMERICA HAS DECIDED THAT MASKS ARE NO LONGER MANDATORY", and "WITH OR WITHOUT GOVERNMENT APPROVAL."

 The reason why we still need masks is literally the fault of people like this. The hypocrisy is so intense that it is actually insane.

Last time I checked, Americans support measures like masks ~70% to ~30%.

everytime i read this sh*t my blood boils

how dare these nutjobs attack Gov. Pritzker when we in Illinois could have been on a massive level of disaster equatable to New York City (no shade, thank everything for Mayor Cuomo and his incredible leadership to save the city). Gov. Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot (who has her problems) have saved thousands of lives and all these miscreants want to do is throw temper tantrums about wearing a mask. IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL. Show some respect.

The other day i got outta of the car and forget to lift my mask (the mask was still on my neck) i was on my phone walking like a zombie so i did not realize, wooow i got the nastiests looks evah i was about to freak out then i realize, it was the mask lol so i lift it and like magic everything was back to normal. People is wild here and taking things seriously as they should and i could not be prouder of mah country
