I can never forget this day. I was in 2nd grade and on our bus ride to school around 7/730 am you can see the towers clearly. It was so clear out the morning. It was shortly after the day began and kids from my class were being called out and their parents/guardians came to pick them up. Not too long after that, our school was finished early and we were sent home. I had no idea what was happening... I knew something was up when on our bus ride home the clear blue sky was now tainted with the smoke. I still didn’t know exactly what happened. My sister and I get off the bus and our mom meets us at the bus stop to pick us up and every parent their is hysterical. Mom gets us in the car and tells us. My sister being older understands and I don’t get it still... my sister had to explain it to me in basic terms. We go to our family friends house and are there with their family, our family, and close friends for two weeks all waiting to find out if our loved ones made it... unfortunately no one did.

It hurts every year. And ever since then i still hold my breath when I see a low flying plane. I can no longer watch footage from that day because watching the clips over and over again those two weeks on the news channel I can’t unsee the people jumping from the buildings. Watching the towers fall... it gets to me now.

I remember when I was in kindergarten and we had to go on lockdown. We never prepared for anything like this and it was so chaotic.
