omg be safe!

"but my wedding!! I can't give up on my special day!!"

Like, I don't even have anyone to worry about since I live alone, but I see people with elderly in their families going out and partying and I'm like what the f. I'd met a friend a few weeks back, and that evening I started feeling physically bad and I freaked out about potentially killing someone in their family and immediately got tested. Every sick person has the potential to kill someone else. How can they live with that?

I mean, by now we know most governments do not care at all, so as people, why do WE not care?

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

This is why homophobia exists.

What does this have to do with their sexuality in any way? Heteros aren't doing any better if you wanna take it that way

exactly! it's like a case of "till it happens to you"

Like they really need to get sick and kill a family member to understand how serious it is.

I know not everyone can afford to quarantine themselves completely, people need money and thus have to go to work. I know not everyone has the mental capacity to stay completely alone that long. But literally nothing can excuse going out and partying. People do NOT need to have big gatherings at all. All of that is optional. They actively choose to do so, and that, I do not understand. If I want to meet anyone, I do it outside and away from crowds, and I do not see more than two people at once, and even then we stay apart. That is really easy to do.

I don't even order takeout anymore. I mean, there are no cases directly tied to that but I can never be too sure :air:

Mister G

People gave up. That’s pretty much it. It’s okay to try and live life but damn the level of irresponsibility is just flat out stupid.

There’s always gonna be questionable actions in every group of people. Straights, gays, whites, blacks, asians, etc. There’s always gonna be “choices” made.

Sure, straights party too, but I'm disappointed in my community for not understanding the gravity of a pandemic considering the AIDS crisis nearly knocked us all out only 30 years ago :bear:

Stupidity runs on both sides of the spectrum...When these people get sick, die, etc...i will NOT feel sorry :yennefer:

People have been warned for months, have seen the impact, and STILL feel the need to party, hook up, etc... :bye:

Echoing similar sentiments to others in this thread.

Sure, gays and straights are similar in behaving problematically in the pandemic (and in general lol). I just expect more from a community who preaches love and diversity as well as caring for one another (feelings of “family” and fictive kin in the queer community) And of course a group that was so impacted by another epidemic.

I kind of fear humanity is circling the drain. Not because of covid but just the acceleration of life, destroying the planet, unbridled capitalism, etc.

Regardless of the idiosyncrasies of our groups or factions of people, we do not seem to be doing well as a whole; as a species.

(ps, not all negative, altruism and kindness still exists)
