"The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf is scheduled to offload more than 26,000 pounds of seized cocaine and marijuana in San Diego. "

"According to the Coast Guard, the cocaine is worth an estimated $390 million."

I wonder how come they don't calculate how much the marijuana is worth..?

Also,  legalizing cocaine and spending the money on regulating and rehab would be much more economical than the current enforcement costs..

Honestly, it would also help addicts seen as requiring help, as opposed to being criminalized. This was proven to work in different countries too.

Though that'd mean no more prison slave labor and no more black market money for them, so I don't think it's ever gonna happen.

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

I don't think they are ignorant, though I think they know exactly what they are doing. It is just that they only serve their own interests, and those do not align with what is good for the public. So it is plain corruption and evil at every level.

The US is known for using inmates for free labour. I'm pretty sure they can 'work' (slave labour) to reduce their sentence, and most of that work is assembling weaponry for the military. It's an extremely corrupt system which motivates them to keep prisons full  to supply the military. Someone else please fact check all this for me though, this is just what I've been told multiple times over the years

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
