Does Chromatica take place in the early 90s/2000s?

The VMA performance got me thinking, does it take place in the 90s/2000s? The intro mentioned NYSNC and Britney Spears, following Gaga. Everything in the room was also dated. Thoughts?

Technically Chromatica is in her mind. That’s why the skies are pink and the piano is a brain.

but yes it takes place in the 90s/early 2000s

REALITY

Well, Diana Ross was mentioned and I always thought that that was a nod to the fact that Replay samples her song "It's My House."

Maybe Britney and NSYNC inspired Chromatica in some way too?

It's taking place in every era #ARTPOP

But yea, I think Chromatica is Gaga's crazy version of Earth both in past and present, where everything is possible and no one thing is greater than another :laughga:

Chromatica takes place in the 90's in the year 3020 :vegas: the theme of the VMA medley was mixing the past, present and future which IMO also is one of many themes of Chromatica.

You can see in different interviews with Formichetti or music producers, they talk about how Chromatica is modeled around and heavily inspired by 80s/90s music and aesthetics.

I hope they brainstorm something similar for The Chromatica Ball. It would be cool if they continued the theme of Chromatica being all in her mind and the brain piano was the piano she played at the show.
