Although I understand his intentions are good, I feel like a lot of people world-wide use the “get out there and vote!” card in the most extreme situations.

Like, people are dying right now Karen, and voting isn’t until November. What do you suppose we do in the meantime? Just sit here and wait for our voting slip to arrive in the hopes that our selected representative has a chance of winning the election and making policies that may/may not change anything over the next four years???

Aren't those Democrat cities though   I mean, not that a few cities can halt climate change, but, like, they could do SOMETHING about those... gender reveal parties, I guess? Just like when they are saying "vote" against police brutality when that brutality continues on in Democrat cities as well. I do not believe they REALLY want to solve anything at all.

Those in power right now and even 5 years ago have/had the power to change a lot. But now it seems they are simply using these catastrophic events as bait to gain votes.

Sometimes I feel mandatory voting in my country is a bad thing, cause you think it must be getting the biased herd mentality opinions and dominant systematic problems with how people are exposed to information and the like. It's definitely set up in such a way that nothing but the two major parties even have a chance of winning their seat.

But despite this, as I've talked about it with my friends and lamented these things, it does still seem to be a much better way of doing things, and at least you can say it's generally fairly equated, than in a place like America where it's optional if you want to vote, and people don't vote and in droves the awfully prejudiced opinionated voters vote.

This is a perfect example of why it's completely unacceptable to blindly praise a politician just because they happen to be a Democrat.

He was the most powerful person in the world for eight years, and under his presidency the production of fossil fuels that are destroying the planet and creating the circumstances that result in these fires increased.

He literally bragged about it:

Any politician with that record has no right to claim that they actually care about climate change. No politician that doesn't back the Green New Deal gets to pretend that they're fighting to save our lives.

Obama did what he could considering he isnt a dictator and had to deal for 6 years with a republican controlled Senate.
