StrawberryBlond 14,820
I've expressed over the last 2 days my disapproval of this song as an upcoming single and as a song in general. I don't like the beat, the lyrics, Gaga's robotic way of singing, the whole thing just doesn't work for me, doesn't make me want to dance, doesn't make me feel anything. I'm amazed it was even considered good enough to make the album, much less become a single. Even more confused how it's such a fan favourite. So, my only conclusion is to just ask you outright: 1. What do you like about it? 2. Why do you think it makes a good single? 3. Why do you think it should become a single now over all the other potential choices? I really want serious answers as it's officially the most puzzling fan favourite Gaga song I've ever encountered and I've tried to see what others see in it and try to like it but I just can't. Please give me answers to this all-consuming mystery to me.

MoonIight 1,372
Has some of her best lyrics EVER, production is immaculate, has that classic Gaga feel to it, a weird but at the same time accessible song and do I need to say how f*cking gorgeous the Chromatica II + 911 transition is? The vocal layerings, the high and low notes overlapping each other and the chorus is one of the smartest things Gaga has ever done. Repetitive yet catchy plus it makes sense for the song to have a mellow and monotonous chorus since the lyrical content is about taking antipsychotics etc etc. Do I need to say more cuz I can go on and on about how beautiful and intricate this song is. SHALLOW 16,384
It's very Gaga, also it sounds futuristic and it's definitely the best song on Chromatica and maybe one of Gaga's best songs too. The only thing that i don't really love about it is the when she sings "Iiii can't se me cry" she sounds just a bit annoying , but the rest of the song is perfect and i wish the outro was longer, it's so beautiful. I honestly never thought it'd be a single cause i didn't think radio would eat it up, but she's Gaga, she can revolutionize radio once again.
lasagna 2,865
im not the biggest fan of it (its a good song but not anywhere near her best imo) but i feel it should be a single for the pure meme potential that chromatica ii transitions had

crybrowz 3,247
Haha all the things you said you dislike about it are the things I love about it. I love the hard beat and the dark, heavy, futuristic production. The lyrics are some of the best of her career imo, esp "This is biological stasis, my mood shifting to manic places wish I laughed, and kept the good friendships, watch life, here I go again." And also I love when Gaga goes robotic. I also love PF, HML, and ARTPOP (song) because of her robotic voice on those too. However, I do agree that it's probably not the most single friendly song on the album and if it were up to me it would stay an album track. But I do think it's a beautiful song and if it is the single then I will be happy.

Luke78619 23,315
I am a very big fan of the production, especially the final chorus and outro, I recently noticed little changes in these parts that sound gorgeous. the chorus lets me down a little ngl but still an overall bop insta: good_lukeing | I have nothing else to promote
REALITY 76,267
1.) Well, I just became a more recent fan of the song. I started to listen to it more after the VMA performance and after the rumors that it was going to be the next single. On my initial listen, it was actually my least favorite song on the album. That said, I grew to like it because it was just so different than anything else on the album. This song feels the most like "Old Gaga," and while I've never been a fan of that kind of label, I think that the song does sound a lot like something she'd do back in the day. I personally always loved the lyrics; I find it to be one of the most profound things on Chromatica. I'd say the choruses are my favorite part of the song. It's fun, catchy, and I do think that the idea of it being a single helped me like it more. I'm interested to see what she'll do with it. 2.) I think that it's the riskiest song on the album to make a single, and I guess while some people find that unnerving, I find it exciting. SL and ROM were very safe options. They were more radio-friendly and they follow a more sterotypical "pop" sound. 911 sounds very different and unique. Sure, it's not the most "experimental" thing ever—far from it—but I think it's different enough to make people interested. Plus, I really do believe that it could have a ton of great visuals. 3.) I'm not really sure if now is the best time to make 911 a single, but also...why not? Personally, I would rather choose Replay or Babylon, but like I said in part 2, I think that 911 would be at the very least an interesting single to have. Besides, people always complained about Gaga not making the fan favorite the single: Gypsy, HML, DITD, SHICD, DIC, etc. were all fan favorites that didn't materialize into anything else besides just being album tracks. I think she recognizes that and that's a big reason why she chose 911 as the next single. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
Jose P 23,341
All the reasons why you dislike are the reasons I like it. It sounds dark, futuristic, atmospheric, and conjures strong imagery with the melody and production. And I love roboticGa in general. As for next single I don’t think it was the best choice but I don’t think it was an awful choice either. Tbh there’s little chance for any other song on the album to succeed as a single, so it’s better to go for an unconventional, risky, Gaga-esque song with potential for great visuals, over a generic basic song like Free Woman. If it flops and there’s no next single at least the last one was an interesting one.
Hybrid AT 78
It's quirky and fun. Reminds me of her old songs. The lyrics are obviously really cool which help build a lot of mental imagery (motifs like emotional faders, biological stasis, manic places, diamond boxes, paradise and oasis are genius IMO) but what I love is the juxtaposition of the pacing on the verses vs the chorus. It goes from rapid fire on the verses and then gradually slows through the chorus. Madeon's production is 🔥 10/10 "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. They are my family, this is my home and you are not welcome here."
imsourcandy 107
I love the lyrics. It fits perfectly on this album. It’s about struggle. I reacted strongly when I first heard this. “I can’t see me cry, I can’t see my cry this is the end”. I relate it sucks to be in a bad place and to me it expresses the pain... like I can’t even cry anymore I hate this(whatever the problem is or mental state of someone). It also can be a cry for help. However lyrically the verses are what really hit hard. They are perfection. You can hear the pain she was going through and sadly many people are going through this. This song, Alice, SFA and replay really transport you somewhere when you hear them. Plus the sound of it it’s fresh, the production is sickening it’s like daft punk meets Gaga with mega bass. It’s something I’d love to hear in a club. sure I think some other songs would of worked as singles also but this is 100% Gaga no other artists writes like this she’s showing her unique artistry. I like the curveball single, she’s the artist and the song is art plus imagine the video. Sorry for rambling love this song and chromatica ll with it >>
