sarcamstic 1,570
Unpopular opinion, but... Sine From Above is one of my least favorite songs from Chromatica. (production wise) Don't get me wrong, the concept of the track is beautiful; I love the meaning, and Gaga's and Elton's vocals sound superb, per usual. BUT! I'm not sure if it's just me, but if it weren't for the occasional strings and drum & bass outro, the song would be lower tier. The production of the instrumental feels very vapid 2015-2016 dance, especially in the post-chorus/breakdown. How does everyone else feel about SFA? flying like 1000 birds
joannesrats 26
The strings are what make it. It's tied for my favorite song on the album. It's in her top five pop songs.
dynamite 53,984
I like it but it definitely sounds like an older track, it's from 2013 or something isn't it? Like a poem said by a neydy in red

That's when they started writing it, but the production was all done 2018-20. They said that BP and Gaga brought the song to life but Elton and Ryan Tedder, the ones who originally wrote it, were stuck. The sound and instrumental is all new. Poltergeist 3,587
Actually the outro is the thing I don't need in this song. I don't mind it now, but I wouldn't feel bad if it wasn't there. As for the other sounds, I love that they make me feel nostalgic, but it's the type of nostalgia that feels fresh to me even after years. For me this song is her magnum opus I've been getting messages from my deep waters

HoneyB 27,555
Elton John ruined the song for me and I think it’s overrated he needs to stay away from her 💋 𝕊𝕥𝕖𝕡 𝕐𝕒 ℂ𝕠𝕠𝕜𝕚𝕖𝕤 𝕌𝕡💋🍪
JaysAMess 27,843
Gaga delivered vocals and lyrics - she didn't have to snap so hard but she did, and she gave us one of the best songs in her discography.

I wonder what the original Elton & Ryan Tedder demos sounded like. The structure of the actual lyrical content (how the lyrics flow, where they'd fall within the rhythm, etc) feels older. The newer production over that makes it feel off to me, I guess. flying like 1000 birds

I think that's what makes it great. It gives a really timeless feel full of nostalgia without sounding dated.

Lucas 25,687
I think it's so interesting how everyone has different favorites/less favorites on Chromatica! On her other albums 80% of fans like or dislike the same songs Personally I think it's a really great song and the most unique on the album. It gives me nature vibes I don't know why, like when I listen to it I kinda feel like I'm in a forest lol. And although it's very chaotic it feels very relaxing idk how to explain
Cookie Tookie 10,546
It does absolutely nothing for me. And Elton’s voice does not fit the song. I would have preferred them on a ballad together.
SLAG 7
I absolutely love SFA. It’s beautifully nostalgic and the lyrics paint vivid imagery.

Agreed about the nostalgia factor! Maybe with a proper visual (please gaga ) it'll connect better for me. Most songs allow me to paint a visual in my head, or a color palette at least, but SFA is one of the few that I can't exactly get a feeling for. It's very unique. flying like 1000 birds
