No she's not over-- she's got so much potential and she's so young. If anything she might be like Lana del Rey in the long-term, super successful and acclaimed but not necessarily a chart topper radio hitmaker

Right? like people seem to forget she's an Alt Pop girl, so it's pretty unlikely she'll ever have a similar, let alone bigger success than what she had with her debut album and that's not bad at all as long as she remains authentic. Lana is a living example of this.

idk i like the song but it's no big deal, i must have heard it like three times or so

tho i'm sure when she starts the new album cycle she will release a smash tbh

... and now i just sit in silence.

Every career has peaks and valleys. A valley doesn't mean someone is declining or that their career is over.

I'm surprised she doesn't have a more active/engaged fanbase. There are so many stan groups on twitter but afaik I've never ran into a bunch of Billie stans! just thought about it lol weird..

They are gen z. Stan wars are not their thing probably. There’s a bunch on atrl people hiding behind billie to drag miss gaga though when they are actually Katy, Beyonce, Madonna stans :ladyhaha:

I’d like to see her change up her sound, but I don’t think she’s done yet, but she won’t be seeing the success of WWAFAWDWG again

This. Whispering can only get you so far.

Gaga has millions of fans and there are thousands of users on this site. How do a handful of people saying something foolish about Billie turn into "We" and "Gaga's fans"? Even the majority in this thread sound pretty rational to me.

That’s just those individual people's thoughts. I'm sure some of Billie's fans or any other artists fans aren't exactly showering Gaga with love either. It is what it is.

This isn’t the first thread on here trying to rag on her success, there’s been quite a handful. Monsters are primarily the ones coming after Billie on Twitter and ATRL too

The critics disagree.

The critics are biased against Katy though, it's very obvious. They literally gave Teenage Dream a 52 (it clearly deserved over 70), cry about the following albums not having this kind of bops, but criticize her for not evolving, all at the same time:laughga:

Just from what I've gathered from her interviews, she doesn't seem too interested in commercial success.

But out of the pop girls who have recently hit big, she is definitely one of the very few I will be following to see how she advances and changes. As for "My Future", one of my favorite tracks this year, the idea that it might or might not do well on radio didn't even occur to me. It's damn good, period.

I think she will have a career like Marina or Allie X, just a little bit bigger

This is just such an embarrassing OP lmao. She’s in such a healthy place with her career she can drop buzz singles after her monumental debut album. Maybe wait til a proper lead single is introduced with a video and everything and see how it goes lol.

gaga fans are so embarrassing it’s posts like this that make everyone hate us lol

No what they were saying was this is an attempt to reclaim an old sound and she didn’t stick the landing. Intention vs execution are two different things.

and TD the album as a whole was not a good album. Good singles? Yes. But who gives a f about hummingbird heartbeat or just like the movies.

Where was the attempt though? Maybe she attempted with Never Really Over, but she didn't fail. The rest is very different from TD:shrug:

Also, there’s like 4 tracks from that album that weren't singles, that says a lot doesn't it? :air: the non-single are also fine to me
