I have viewed and explored GGD for almost 5 weeks now and decided to step in now especially after what I see on this topic/thread. I think the OP is unable to grasp the understanding of a civil argumentation and open-minded discussion(s). Let me say my thoughts on BLM, both the slogan and the movement. I believe that Black Lives Matter, why? Because all lives matter. I should not (and no one should ever) feel afraid, disturbed, or annoyed to say "Black lives do matter!" because when you believe that all human lives matter, you know that Black lives are part of human lives. The movement is proper for a country with democratic system and society model; freedom is exercised via both mild and aggressive methods. I don't support stealing, theft, or looting, but I understand that it's all part of a civil unrest. Sure, you may say that I am justifying bad things for a greater good, but the truth is that the BLM movement is more than just protests in the streets. Perhaps black people are even more aspired to get into politics/government to make a change, so that in the near future people don't need to do demonstration anymore. Perhaps black arts become more recognized and appreciated because of the movement. You see, when you only see the very bad things that bad people do and want to make a universal judgment on the whole movement based on those bad things, you're actually doing a justification yourselves and maybe even implying that police brutality toward people who support the movement is worthy of continuing. That would be a very terrible belief to be had, but you do you I guess. My opinions on George Floyd death are a lot, but the most important truth is that he died of asphyxia. Guess what could cause asphyxia? A lot. However, even if we want to use OP's initial point of drugs in bloodstream/lungs, both OP and us can never deny the fact that the knee on the neck enhanced the bigger possibility of suffocation. Also, the convicted officer didn't put his knee "near" the neck, rather he put it directly on Floyd's neck. We have all seen the video, so if you think that he put his knee "near" Floyd's neck, I believe that you have spread lies and ignore truth. But you do you, I guess again. Hopefully, the U.S.A. can recover from all of these situations because it's definitely not a good situation that is happening in there. ❤️ Hello, how are you?
