You know that's a false equivalenceĀ 4 hours ago, berlinforme said: In my opinion, people need to realize two things: First, you can be a fan of someone and still not be happy with everything they do.Ā Yes, and I agree and the OP acknowledgesĀ that.Ā 4 hours ago, berlinforme said: Nobody'sĀ obliged to be understanding of every decision their favorite singer makes.Ā So you're suggesting thatĀ everyone should be mindlessly criticizing an artist or their work? Out of all people, even the fans should not have an ounce of empathy for trying to understand why the artist might be taking the decisions they're taking?Ā That's justĀ 4 hours ago, berlinforme said: Second, and I think this is even more important, if an artist you've never even personally metĀ is provoking such extreme reactions in youĀ that you insult and threatenĀ them or defend them to death, you should probably take a step back.Ā The former is always wrong while the latter is sometimes right so I'm not sure why you think they're equivalent. They're not. I suggest you to read the OP again because itĀ isĀ mindful of differing opinions.Ā "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. That is unquestionable.Ā Agreed. 4 hours ago, Pennywise said: Now, that being said, some people could learn how to make actual criticism with boundaries of respectĀ There is a difference between talking **** and criticizing. There is also a difference between being yes-men and being appreciative. Y'all just don't know how to find a balance of those.Ā Yes, and that's exactly what the OP states. It was written with as many perspectives in mind as possible. The idea was to be elaborate and all-encompassing. So we fundamentally agree, right? Ā 2 hours ago, Blastertoyo said: You are aware that a lot of it wasĀ āwe bought the album and tickets so she owes us albums and tickets or a delay/ cancellation announcementāĀ Ā I'm not bothered to pull out specific quotes from previous threads (you can search) but what you quoted was more about the silence periodĀ between the album release and the GagaRadio announcement in regards to the "lack of promo", not the album postponement. farfromtheshallow 57
People often don't view celebrities as real people with true emotions and feelings, just as symbols for their own enjoyment and entertainment. Combine that with the social media mentality we all live in and things can get ugly. It is sad. No matter whether I dislike a song of hers or whatever she is doing (I actually think she has done an incredible job this year through all of this), I will always respect her for the work she puts in to not only her craft, but being honest about her personal issues and trying to help others. She truly is a caring leader andĀ for that she deserves our respect.Ā

In fact, no other modern popstar has done for her fans what Gaga managed to achieve with just one album, let alone her whole career. Katy also doesn't battle (or at least hasn't been publicly open)Ā with mental and physical struggles.Ā They're both different people. I'm not sure what your point is.
