actually most of them do! that's why there's a post like this or the fear of fans hating the VMAs performance. I actually didn't login for a while after it because of how fearful I was about the fan response. She can never do anything well in some eyes and I didn't want that negativity.

These attacks may be minimal on GGD, but not on Twitter - it's bad on stan Twitter. It's gonna be less noticeable here on a forum environment with better moderation and generally more respect.

but yeah I agree, too many times people just don’t realise what the difference is between voicing your opinion in a constructive way and what is just plain hate... when it comes to someone’s work/art just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it should be done differently

It's entirely possible. 

I think current Gaga is vastly different from earlier on. I mean, i love both but they practically seem like two entirely different people and I think many struggle with that. 

It's going to be a smaller percentage of people that can appreciate both and understand why it ended up that way given the information we know.

here's an example about the VMAs performance

constructive: i think that the 911 performance should have had some live vocal effects to better represent the album version, but it's her choice and it still worked. could've been better tho

hateful: i can't believe her team would let her go out there and sound so unrehearsed, out of breath, and nasal. it sounded so bad and unprofessional, she should have just lipsynced

I guess, but it's what you focus on. I have about 8 really close friends that are Gaga stans that met her, go to every tour and they never go online to talk about her. The only Gaga negativity I find is on here.

But we shouldn't forget this is a forum, build for discussion and that means different opinions are expressed. We are putting Gaga under a microscope, obsessed as we are. It's an unrealistic view, but something you can never really change. People usually grow out of it fortunately.

why to bring twitter? it's a toxic sh-thole

I'm talking about the forum and only the forum and here most of the people are respectful or simply frustrated and had to vent a bit.

The era launched during the most difficult period that most of the fans had lived, so of course when they see Katy or Dua promoting their album, they are asking why Gaga is not promoting too and becoming frustrated, it's a human behavior..

You're asking the impossible.

Let's them just be.

I actually met someone at a tour and when I mentioned GGD they said they grew up and stopped coming on here and Twitter because everyone's so negative and don't know how to just enjoy things.

As previously shared by both OP and myself, different opinions are welcomed and should be expressed. The problem arises when someone is overly negative and hateful without thinking about anything else other than what they wanted. It comes across as rude, self-centered, and selfish.

I brought in Twitter bc this post is about fans in general, not just the atmosphere of GGD. And again, it's one thing to complain and compare to other stars when it seems like Gaga isn't doing anything. However, as we know now from one of her team members, they were working on this VMAs performance since February, she's been doing Haus Labs work, apparently shot MVs, performances and photoshoots (just waiting for the right time I guess), all while balancing her physical and emotional health. 

One can complain about not having much content when an album was just released, but it becomes a problem when they trash her whole team and seemingly don't want to try to understand beyond their desires.

1. OP isn't about the "great fans" though. It's about those who don't know what being a fan is, those who are constantly negative, disrespectful to her and looking for reasons to tear her or her work down. There's a very fine line between criticism and bashing and the OP hopes to address that elaborately

2. I felt the need to vent and so I did. It came out long because I wanted to individually address them as and when they happened but had my posting privileges revoked so couldn't. That's why I put the disclaimer on top. Sorry not sorry!

You hit the nail on the head. She deserves better fans. We should be better fans and better PEOPLE. This is a core issue, IMO. If you can be nasty to someone you don't personally know and are supposedly a fan of, that speaks volumes to your character.    

If you don't have anything nice to say about her work, don't say anything at all. I'm sure over the past 10 years of being a fan, I've said some things I shouldn't have, but I always try to view it as "If Gaga was next to me, would I say these things to her face?" It is perfectly healthy and normal to not worship everything she does...and you shouldn't! It's not to say this forum needs to be 100% sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, but, you also should see things from every perspective and decide to maybe just NOT SAY SOMETHING if you think it'll come off as downright nasty/mean.
