starsdontlipsing 53
I think Shallow is the song of hers that still gets played 30-40 years from now. I’m sure others will too but I think it’s a lock for Shallow.

They'll always be played as throwback hits but usually that fades 50-100 years. Shallow is in the same lane as My Heart Will Go On... tdlr: miss shallow is a diff breed and y'all better not try her
FFXIV WhiteMage 5,923
To think so many people doubted Shallow It was a major bop on first listen And it just gets better and better over time

I think her best contenders for most remembered hits are: Bad Romance: still seen as her iconic pop and cultural hit and a super iconic video and the song is also very distinct and stands out. Born This Way: Because of the social message and I think especially among gay community it will be remembered for a very long time Shallow: Because if how massive and critically acclaimed it was and being the headline of a major movie helps too I think all her other hits for the most part will only be remembered by this generation and any young ppl who happen to be into past legends and look up their work... but I don't see most people born in 2020 knowing any other of her Pop hits when they are 20 years old in 2040. I think the 3 songs I mentioned are the only ones that have a shot at surviving time

A lot of people still remember it and it always goes back to iTunes US from time to time, plus it is one of her most streamed songs daily on Spotify and Youtube (not counting her new releases)

And I don't think it compares to the other 3 in longevity I think in 30 years the young people as a general rule may have heard of Shallow, Bad Romance and Born This Way but many probably won't be aware of Poker Face Poker Face is a strong throwback our generation likes but I don't know that it will stand out on a strong enough level to capture future generations like that but I could be wrong. I would rank it as the #4 among most likely to last but I still think those 3 will be it

starsdontlipsing 53
Let’s not underestimate that more long-lasting hits are on their way either. It’s only a matter a time before she becomes the artist that made Shallow full time.
