Beyoncé and Rihanna aren't 10's girls. Beyoncé is early 00's and Rihanna is mid 00's.

Kesha, Katy, Gaga, Goulding and a few others are the stars of early 10's.

Rihanna had 8 number ones from 2010-2013, she counts as a star of the early 10’s

I really really really hope she finds a way to crawl back to being respected again like Gaga did

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Nope, that's not true. Back in the days, Gaga is stronger in album sales while Katy is stronger in single sales. Gaga kept her strength in album sales later in her career with ARTPOP and Joanne both secured more than 200.000 unit sales in their first week. Even C2C has a more than 150.000 sales in its first week. Katy only made her 200,000 in the first week at her peak, Prism (and not even teenage dreams). Katy's failure in her recent singles perfectly predicted that her album sales would be doomed. Gaga does not show a drastic album drop even at her lowest, like ARTPOP or Joanne (way before ASIB), but Katy showed an unbelievable single failure from multiple no.1 from an album to only top 40. You can clearly see the difference.

I wonder what is the difference that makes Gaga stronger in albums than Katy..

Omg I can't at some people here.

I find Smile much much better than Witness. Kesha's High Road is also a really great album. All this "no growth" bullshit is nonsense. It's not like Gaga just put out an album which shows artistic growth either.. in fact, quite the opposite. Honestly, we, Gaga fans, only have Ariana to thank for Chromatica's "sales".

The problem with Smile: it doesn't have a hit single. (Bad single choices, bad rollout)

And we shouldn't be so bad towards Katy. Look at the quality. Champagne Problems and Tucked sound totally like what is happening in pop music right now: funky disco vibes, future nostalgia. Tucked is a total teenage dream smash too. Not the End of the World sounds like a total Iggy Black Widow Dark Horse throwback. Only Love is so cute.

How is Capital to blame? The album has had TONS of promo, music videos and the album is in stores and out. No one is buying it and this time it has nothing to do with Capital. Her fans have moved on.

People said it's weird Smile is the first time Katy didn't thank her label, so something fishy might be going on

This is delusion. She’s just coke off the back of one of her most successful eras ever... and it was a movie soundtrack. She has proven time and time again she has no problem selling albums or music in general for that matter.

Oh please... Did you mean Gaga releasing the most cohesive album in her discography is not an artistic growth? Wtf?

If that's the case, then people should have just sticked to listening only to ROM. Why would they waste their time and money to stream/buy the rest of the album if there's no Ariana in them? Right?

I think it’s because Gaga has always just had a much larger fan base, as well as a closer relationship with the fans than Katy ever did

gagas team also seemed to have caught on that she was best at album sales so they focused on that from born this way onwards, rather than katys team who would focus on getting her songs to #1 instead

different management strategies me thinks as well as differences in fan base size/commitment :)
