The mistake i think gaga is making

The Edge Of Glory

I loved the performance, but I don't understand this delay to release the 911 m/v (if it exists), if we have to wait until October to release ... it didn't make any sense to perform at the VMAs :noparty:

I'm on the edge with you 🎶🎷

You’re entitled to your opinion! I disagree though personally. I’ve easily seen it 10+ times and am thoroughly impressed. The set design was incredible! It reminded me of the Monster Ball and BTWB in terms of setting a scene onstage, between the bedroom, doll room, and actual stage looking like a factory on Chromatica. The looks were amazing (and the mask actually added a lot to how cool the looks were in my opinion). With the amount of pain she’s so frequently in, to be able to do a 9 minute performance for multiple takes in a presumably heavy mask and still pour her heart out and sing live and sound as good as she did is honestly incredible (her isolated vocal/mic feed from the performance really shows how strong her vocals were). This performance made me so sad I can’t attend the Chromatica Ball. Again, you’re allowed to feel differently, but I was incredibly impressed.

You're on the wrong website if you think you can give an honest opinion that isn't praise. This can be considered Gaga bashing

I agree a lot with the OP. While I thought her performance was great, it did not impress me that much. And I have a feeling her body can’t handle that much choreography anymore, it felt forced and rushed. She needs to stick to acoustic performance, she’s not 20 anymore, she needs to take better care of her body considering her fibromyalgia.

I.. kind of agree with OP honestly. There were good vocals and I respect her dedication with her choreography, especially with fibro, but I don't think it was that interesting at all either.

I will always love gaga and support her music even if she farts into a microphone .

You know what, I'd actually pay to hear that :lolly:

Perhaps she cannot rehearse "enough" because of her chronic pain?

Also we don't know if the VMAs gave her full control of everything, actually none of the performances had over-the-top stages :oprah:

"The performance was not interesting"

*me while looking at all the details, the ROM boots, the background, the piano, the Blackpink poster, the outfits, whatever Gaga said to Ari right after she hit those whistle notes * :gum:

Reality

This post is honestly really confusing to me.

You say that Gaga focuses more on bringing the singing and the dancing, but then say that she doesn't focus too much on being a "performer"...Is her singing and dancing not a part of the ~performance~ aspect of being a "performer"? So, does the "performer" part of her job only entail the costume, lighting, set design, etc.?

I personally thought everything about the performance was great, aside from some vocal stuff like in 911. The lighting, set design, outfits, etc. were all great...They're on par with stuff she's done previously.

I also have a major problem with you saying that she "doesn't rehearse enough." We know that Gaga works her ass off to give us the performances we see. That's not a secret. We've seen rehearsal footage of her, we've seen her talk about the behind the scenes process of creating music videos or performances, etc. But also with her fibro, obviously some things need to be regulated with her.

I really just don't understand what your point is, to be frank.

Y’all seriously who did the whistle notes at the VMAs? was it Gaga or Ariana. I want to start a conversation about this. Ari was already singing when the whistle note started. I’m begging u people to watch the performance again because it’s bugging me either she lipped or???????? Idk

I mean, Gaga cannot hit whistle notes and she was also singing so... There's only one answer :poot:

I think that note was prerecorded (like, before they filmed the actual performance, so Ari was supposed to lipsync it when filming) but I think she forgot about it for a second
