Great highs, but some low lows. but ray of light was a damn SNOOZE fest!!!! Plus some of the songs did not sound mixed right. They just sounded muddy and like they were not mastered American Life is the most cohesive and consistent!!! I do not like Hollywood, really , but the rest of the album is great. the only thing bad about American life is the ALBUM ARTWORK!!! I remember I first listened to it when I was 6 and I didn't like it so much, but now I appreciate it so much more with repeated listens. The lyrics are some of her best tbh. I usually have to be in a certain mood to listen to it though. American Life was the first album of hers I heard in full so it definitely holds a special place in my heart; the nostalgia is unreal. It's my 2nd favorite M record after COADF and ROL as 3rd. If you haven't, watch The Confessions Tour on YT and maybe you'll appreciate more the album Also, the American Life artwork was inspired by a famous photograph of Argentine revolutionary leader Che Guevara. The problem is people only remember the singles but that album had the best album only songs on a pop album ever. American Life is definitely underrated tho.
