This doesn’t make sense because she called redone, dr luke and David Guetta to produce her songs. She didn’t fight for her rap songs to get popular, she only made what was already popular (electropop)

Well Cardi is obviously in demand right now but the key is longevity. Katy has 9 #1s yet Gaga outlasted her. I can't stand Nicki's personality at all but she had some longevity overall.

I agree charts don't measure success perfectly and have arbitrary weight factors in the points system but it still gives u an idea

 

But this is why by charts I also mean general commutative success like streams and sales. I too don't think where a song peaks is a good measure of how big something truly was because of so many variables that can affect a peak in a single week

That's not exactly fair. No matter how successful one era is, it cannot exactly "surpass" a 13 year-long career. Longevivity is a different beast altogether.

Cardi is obviously bigger rn, but let's not pretend like Nicki doesn't have some monster hits that can compete with WAP under her belt.

So far. Gaga's popularity between late 2013 and early 2017 collapsed for as long a period of time as Katy has been on a low so far yet Gaga managed to come back

 

I'm not saying Katy will successfully have a comeback like Gaga cuz it doesn't look likely but we can't be certain yet

This is such a pointless question to ask this site, you all obviously stan Cardi and are going to pick her but in all honesty these two females cannot be compared because of how long each of them have been in the industry. It is the equivalent of comparing Gaga and Dua Lipa,  it just simply doesn't make sense.

Charts wise yes Cardi is bigger. Nicki has longevity and been in the game longer and contributed a lot for female rap likewise for Cardi. They debuted at different times of their careers so I never understand why they are constantly compared.
