This was her lead. The question is what song started her decline. Not which some was a moderate hit. CTTR song started her decline. And she did continue with another song. Bon appétit and Swish Swish. I guess I’m saying like what song damaged her career the most. I truly believe it was the migos collab
MonsterPug 490
I wouldn’t call it a decay. Yeah it didn’t chart well but the views on that video are a lot.

Franch Toast 26,861
This song will always be special to me because I was in the SNL audience and watched her perform it live and in person. I didn't understand why people were throwing fruit at her during the performance (I'd never heard the song before). She started off sprawled out on some sort of table thing, and seconds before the performance went on-air, she started screaming that her in-ear monitors weren't working. Somehow, the crew resolved the issue just in time. She/Her/Hers
LateToCult 40,896
For me it was Rise that marked her decline both in popularity and artistry. I think NRO is the only song she’s released since then that I thoroughly enjoy. omg @Franch Toast you saw this in person????
Gracious Gaga 17,163
it was her hair. she should've never gone blonde and never cut it short. ♥ Kindness Police.
dit 46,473
oh hunty you are wrong. Katy's decline began with "Uncle De Shawn Ali". Dark Horse just was her final hurrah / a fluke. She's been flopping since. CTTR was a cute sized hit though.

Dark Horse (previous single) and Legendary Lovers give me a similar vibe, it would have felt very samey. You want something more distinctive and notable, for a next single. Love Me or the Taylor Swift-esque Double Rainbow would’ve been better options, in my opinion.

Anyway, yup I won tickets to SNL via their biggest fan contest. The Rock was hosting, Katy Perry was the musical guest, and ScarJo and Tom Hanks cameoed. My friend and I went and turned it into an extended week NYC holiday. We had so much fun! I've written about this before on here, but we saw Amy Schumer, JJ Abrams, Josh Duhamel, Steven Spielberg, and other celebs in the audience. I ran smack into Questlove from The Roots on my way back from the bathroom after. KP also performed Swish Swish and had that backpack kid on stage with her. I had no idea who he was and was super confused. We weren't supposed to take pictures, but I surreptitiously snapped one at the end during the goodbyes. It's terrible because I had no time to focus or zoom, plus my finger is blocking the lens, but I had to do it before security caught me. (They have made guests delete photos before and kicked them out.) If Amy Schumer could take pictures, so could I. Equality, baby. If you zoom in, you can see Katy on the left holding Nugget. The Rock is out in the audience at that point on the far right. Backpack kid is behind Katy. ScarJo is center left, also dressed in white. I can't see Tom in the photo. The musical set is on the far left. You can still see the table from Bon Appétit. I also took a photo of our tickets in the bathroom, because we had to give them back before being seated. TheOriginalOne 10,723
I would say the harbinger of decay was something at the end of PRISM. Maybe Birthday. It felt like birthday was the beginning of the downfall.
