That is not even an arhument. Just facts. Regatdless of your stage name, she is not new artist.

Gaga didn't even get nominated for Best New Artist at Grammys

I wonder why. Christina Aguilera won with her second album. Or was it because her first was never released?

She isn't.

And it matters, because Grammy is one of body built by the industry. They know people who have recorded under different names before hence not eligible to be nominated as new artist.

not you using the grammys as a metric to define anything in music.

That's only because they expected her to have a hit like Poker Face and it didn't happen. I don't know about her contract but I guess her label is releasing the album because they had no other option

¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

Ava is not new. Not new new at least. This album barely her debut.

She releases music in 2006 -2008 as Amanda Kay.

Yes, but to the degree that Gaga wasn’t new with the Fame because she had Red and Blue lol.

Honestly, I don't think the music itself is all-over-the-place. The Heaven and Hell concept works enough and such a big complaint people have regarding her music is that her singles sound too similar...so I don't really get the "singles sound so different" argument. They all sound like they belong on the same album. Double Dutchess struggled slightly with sound (but I actually found it more cohesive than her debut) but more had an issue with time as she really had three launches for the album (L.A. Love, MILF$, and You Already Know). Smile, in contrast, seems like a collection of singles that are not cohesive and certainly do not really fit the album aesthetic.

The Ava Max album for sure has been drawn out, but a lot of debuts are these days. Labels want to build a streaming presence. It's not like an established artist dropping an album where people will tune in due to name recognition. Look at Becky G, who took about 2-3 years of album singles to drop the album. Madison Beer seems to be on the same trajectory.

I actually feel like Heaven and Hell will be cohesive in sound and visuals (the new artwork she's dropping has been amazing and should have been the cover). Whether it will particularly be memorable? I'm doubting it but ready to be surprised.
