This doesn't come off as disrespectful to you? Wtf?!

People deserve to be called out and held accountable.

This wasn't even directed towards the BLM movement.

You could apply this to any social issue.

Now, are celebrities obligated to talk about social and political issues? Personally, I don't think so. I think it's admirable if they do, but I don't think they should be obligated to do so. This wasn't a direct attack on the BLM movement. There are much bigger things to worry about than what someone in Twenty One Pilots tweets.

The title is wrong, is only Tyler who is getting dragged. Joshua did use his twitter to support the movement.

He’s literally making fun of people requesting him to post about something, not BLM. Celebrities don’t have to voice their opinions on everything and everyone. Stop canceling people for not doing stuff that you wanted them to do. Sick. He did nothing wrong and in no way did he mock the BLM movement. Also the fact that majority if people getting mad are white people with their fake wokeness is beyond.

Some people feel like it's not their place to speak on certain things and I get it.

But to make a joke about it :toofunny: he should have just stayed quiet tbh.

You're stinky

Yeah, but he shouldn't have mocked the people wanting him to use his 'platform' to speak up about BLM with an insensitive corny joke.

Not you responding after I deleted my post. I’m not really here to discuss the topic but sometimes it’s ok to let people control their own careers and let them face the backlash from their actual fans without everyone throwing in their two cents.

the way he pivoted to talk about suicide as to make people feel bad and then was like “oh it’s not working lemme just say **** you” :bear: It’s literally abusing people’s trust

They're asking him to use his platform to speak up for BLM. He doesn't have too. But he also doesn't have to mock them. People saying that it's white people getting mad are full of it.

POC fans have been asking him for months to use his 'platform' to speak up about BLM cuz he stayed silent about it. He instead made that stupid platform joke.

People cancelling him over a tone deaf and insensitive tweet was a bit too much, but it's alright to call him out. Him 'not doing anything wrong' is bs.

Silence is complicit. This is how he broke his silence.  This is tasteless and so is each and everyone of you here defending him.  He knew what he was doing.

i get it but like why should you be forced to talk about something you don’t want to tho. many artists only spoke about it because they felt they were obligated and imo that’s horrible lmao, people should speak out because they truly believe in something, not because some twitter stans or even their fans are telling them to.

there’s something completely wrong with that and specially when everyone is so extreme on everything. BLM (or what it’s left from it), it’s become simple marketing and a political move to favor/disfavor democrats (depending on who you ask), at least that’s what the media has achieved to do and it really gets me how yall still fall for it. it’s sad yes, but that simply shows how little voice black people actually have in the us. dems are using them for their political agenda, if they win in november, they’ll instantly forget about BLM and y’all already know about that.

however of course you can address racism and police brutality without mentioning BLM or any political party, and that’s what *ideally* should be done if you don’t support or agree with the BLM movement.

back to the topic... if i were him i would’ve stayed quiet, it was still insensitive and very very unnecessary. but don’t force people to talk about something they don’t want to talk about! yall want genuine support or not?

How is that horrible? The end goal is to be as much political action as possible. It means mass marketing. Anyone comparing a rich white celeb to MLK for tweeting has their own issues.

Also ughh no one is being forced really. Tyler isn’t being held at gun point to tweet. The threat was always “I’m gonna stop supporting you as a fan,” and now it’s happening. Nobody is owned fans...
