I don't like how it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario. Artists that stay silent get chastised, and artists that don't do seemingly "enough" are, too, chastised. At this point, everybody knows the movement and why it exists, and now it's up to everyone to be proactive.

this is honestly ridiculous.. im all for BLM but why the h*ll are people so sensitive about everything? people are literally trying to be dramatic for clout

I more or less agree that movements in general are being very extra as is social media and cancel culture. Ppl wanna reach and make a problem out of everything and anything nowadays. Everything is a reason to drag and I think society is getting very agressive and excessive in the way it goes about things

However in this particular case I don't feel sorry for their dragging. It was not necessary to make that kind of joke post especially with sensitive emotions right now

Although cancel and drag culture feels excessive to me, it doesn't mean that it never has a point. And in this case I get what they are saying. That post was kinda rude and insensitive imo so I'm not gonna defend the celebrity this time

This is idiocy

Are you guys being difficult on purpose? What the hell is not clicking? When your black fans have been asking you for MONTHS to speak up about racial injustice, and not only do you refuse but downright MOCK them, it's "ridiculous" of them to not appreciate the tasteless joke? It's "idiocy"? I love the band and tried to justify this but I absolutely can't find an excuse for not speaking up about the issue and then making a joke out of it.

His latest tweets are about his mental health and people are still “dragging” him. :smh:

IMO it seems like he's just trying to save face by shifting the conversation. I'm not questioning his mental heath but it's super strange.

read the room, d*ck. There are white supremacists with assault rifles moving down/shooting into crowds at BLM marches.

maybe it's because of the MURDER that's happening in every state in the country?

First of all, what's the correlation? Their music has always been about mental health anyway so it's not like their fans are oblivious. Second of all, DRAGGING? You see rightful criticism of the actions of someone in power as dragging? These tweets have nothing disrespectful in them, it's people expressing their disappointment.

Daylight Jokers

Is he trying to gaslight the issue by posting all those series of mental health tweets? Is he seriously trying to use mental health as an excuse?

REALITY

These people take more time criticizing random **** on Twitter than they do actually doing anything productive for BLM. Shameful.

Maybe it’s a good thing we aren’t celebrities

they all seem to lose brain cells the moment they make it big

People are so ridiculous and hypocrite in 2020

It's far from racism

Just because this isn't racist doesn't mean it's not extremely insensitive, ill-timed (people are literally firing assault rifles into BLM crowds!!!!!), and disrespectful to a serious issue.

Your problem seems to step from the belief that this isn't a serious issue.

Do better.

what is a single tweet from a band going to do? what's it going to change? nothing. nothing unless everyone votes for the right people in November and actually try to make a difference

This doesn't come off as disrespectful to you? Wtf?!

People deserve to be called out and held accountable.

It's one thing to stay silent about issues (which is in itself questionable especially when you have a big platform) but to mock it like this (and this is pure mockery, nothing else) is just disgusting. People are being "sensitive", that tweet is fully belittling the issue and it's idiotic to say the least.

Are you for real?

People are mad because he's actively joking about skirting his social responsibility as a celebrity with fans of color. NOT because he stayed silent (which, IMO, is cringey regardless).
