That's not true at all....maybe the GP are not paying attention to them but last year they did a stadium tour in the US with almost 50million of revenue and this year they were supposed to go on a tour again with 16 shows all in stadiums in the country. They definitely have fans in the US.

i don't think you know much about how korean fans see success in america. this was almost exclusively american fans, korean fans are very inward looking and it's often the international fans who use vpns to vote on korean shows and award shows. plus, very few western streaming services are even available in korea.

I have to say I'm really not a BTS or K-pop fan but the song and the video was good! Well deserved!!!!

And I hope this trend of upbeat pop songs being hits continues!! The last couple of years have had really down/mellow mainstream pop

On one hand I’m so happy for them because this is historic, on the other hand this feels like just another step toward the tipping point of fanbases and labels artificially rigging the hot 100 formula to a point where BB may change the rules 

Like it’s an accomplishment in that it shows how dedicated a fanbase is, but I’ve always interpreted the charts as supposed to represent something different - the hottest song to the GP as a whole. and let’s be honest, it’s not this this week.
 

now I’m not complaining because it played a part in us getting ROM the #1 but I think with this and a lot of other chart toppers this year, BB is gonna have to do some evaluating on what exactly they want the hot 100 to represent in the future.

Hope no ones offended by this and like I said this is historic off the title alone and shows the dedication of their fanbase, but I think it has some wider implications. Especially if it tumbles because that’ll make three songs this year that had huge drops from #1 after SWU and Trollz.
