Of course she does lol. Most of her success came from Teenage Dream / Prism having such catchy singles that probably were everywhere due to payola but people in their 20's were listening to her a lot those days, then move on to other songs in the Top 40. That's what happens when you make songs for the radio. It's like fast food and some stay, some move on.

She hasn’t evolved a whole lot throughout her career, but her main fans grew up and as they matured probably just didn’t feel as connected to her anymore and moved on. She still has somewhat of a fan base, but it seems wayyyyy smaller than what it once was :(

She does and her fan base is a small group hate-spreading creatures. They went to metacritic and scored a 0 to Chromatica. That's abysmal, just to make smile looks better. They'll get what they deserve when the sell for the first week came out.

When a popstar doesn’t want and doesn’t know what an artistic growth is.. you’ll have someone like Katy Perry. :mark:

A VERY small fanbase. I'm a fan, but not a huge fan like I once was years ago.

I imagine they moved on to other artists. The lack of innovation on Katy's music and style isnt good for retaining fans.

this is kinda why i want her to take a lorde/crj path and go indie-pop tbh. her small following of katy stans would be enough to suffice her to have more free reign on her projects, i'd think she'd be happier that way

I feel like that 4 year gap really hurt her, especially when being the hottest pop singer out it’s crucial to keep releasing things. It didn't help that after finally releasing an album it became a messy era that had her trying to be “relatable” by including memes in her music videos or collabing with Migos.  That, or maybe her fanbase grew up who knows:shrug: She’s done her thing when it comes to slaying commercially and it sucks that she isn't performing as well as she used to but she still has some dedicated fans and it’s nice that she still feeds them with so much good content/promo AND releasing bops while being pregnant, so kudos to her:heart:

Perhaps she never so much had a fanbase as a demographic :oprah:: children and WANNABE children :yennefer:

She has really devoted fans but not a lot anymore. And she totally lost the GP which was her main source of success

Is that really whats going on tho? If this was a thing about the label controlling her, wouldnt they be forcing her to follow current trends? The label is suffering by these low sales probably even more than her, why would they be forcing her to keep doing the same style?
