Guest
@ everyone defending this man and calling me a socialist and no understanding in economics. If it is - for a single man - „too difficult“ or „too complex“ to end the warming of Earth‘s climate then how makes a united effort of 195 states more sense to solve that problem ? To what all the defenders are saying, I call bullshit. Of course his net worth is not money in cash or what he has on his bank account, so is the money of states. What‘s crucial is that with money comes power. If you‘re publicly known as the richest man on this planet the money-hungry will take you seriously and those are the ones who are responsible for the mess we are in. If he really wanted to use his privilege for the good in the world he could set up the infrastructure it needs to provoke a deep, sustainable shift. He has all the contacts and the influence it needs to make politics take him seriously. And on top of that he even has 200 billion! If businesses that started with crowdfunding can become one of the most influential in the world so can businesses with someone as Jeff Bezos being the richest man as their founder. It‘s all about perspective and of course it would be a radical step for someone as Bezos as well who is in all these high-profile networks that are connected with his money to make an effort in distributing his wealth. But then again, how is this idea of him rising up for solving the worlds crises’ more ilogical to people than a 16 year old literally provoking a world-wide movement by striking in front the parlament every friday. And this isn't about socialism, but people blinded by capitalism are quick enough to call anti-capitalism as socialist. And it also isn't about taxing, but how those people came to be billionaires, and never did I anywhere in my post said he should give his money to solve poverty. And some countries already tax lottery winnings, so yeah. You should worry about how Jeff Bezos, who you seem to defend, got to where he is: https://www.pcr-online.biz/2018/03/19/a-non-exhaustive-list-of-amazon-scandals/, https://www.cnet.com/news/amazons-bizarre-and-troubled-2019-from-hq2-to-bezos-blackmail/, https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2020/feb/05/amazon-workers-protest-unsafe-grueling-conditions-warehouse, http://www.chinalaborwatch.org/report/143, http://www.usforacle.com/2020/04/28/online-shoppers-should-be-aware-of-amazons-grueling-working-conditions, https://www.cnet.com/news/prime-day-brings-out-anti-amazon-wave-of-protests-and-activism/ Not to mention that they are working towards a monopoly by cutting off their competitors, tax avoidance in Japan and the US, signing a deal with the CIA and more. Lots of people have generational wealth, or have won the lottery (although this is not what I meant by luck), but rarely are they billionaires. Thank you. I’m glad to hear you are critiquing capitalism without turning to socialism. I entirely agree with concerns over monopolies, most of the pure capitalist economics I read are actually heavily anti monopoly (as they kill the whole competitive nature of capitalism!). ❤️Interesting sources thanks I got drunk
Gagaloo911 12,959
Disgusting. ALL wealth the richest billionaires and top tenth of 1% in the US gained during this pandemic needs to be seized and taxed at a MUCH higher rate, then given to provide funding for a vaccine, for compensation to US workers who lost their jobs during this, and to fund a new task force meant to manage and navigate future pandemics. The federal government also needs to add some type of tax on the top 1% as well as Wall St. that will fund a new federal jobs program, since these mother****ers have proven time and time again they aren't using that money to make AMERICAN JOBS like they always say but never follow through with. LilMonst3r 5,544
Amazon has been spiking the prices on items on their site. Bubba tea you can find at regular asian markets for about $3 and amazon is selling them for $7 with not free shipping. Its suck how this pandemic and pure necesity can trigger greed in people to take advantage that a lot of people are willing to pay the rediculous price increase. There is news of a shortage of bubba in asia but it still costs $3 in stores.

Using that money to build more robots that boost production, so more money goes to the owners of the companies. Crazy how during a pandemic its legal for this man to price jack items, increasing the price of some goods by up to 100%

Thank you for stating so beautifully. These billionaires act like their money is gonna last centuries in the family. I say its easier to leave some millions for your descendants but billions of networth is irresponsible given how rich "business" men have screwed american markets and to keep supporting their high luxury lifestyles our government has constantly given them tax breaks and have left regular american folk to fend for themselves and get back to the 9 to 5 cause theres enough of us to fix the billionaires mistakes in a decade or a few. Jollibee 3,179
His total net worth is already more than the total GDP of some countries. He can build her own country on that net worth.

Capitalism has been so ingrained in their minds that they think it is wrong to criticize people who got rich thanks to luck, generational wealth, exploitation and bad work environments. They are profiting off of inequality, and you being underpaid. And there is a 99.99% chance that you aren't gonna come close to being a billionaire. Spill the tea, because we know amazons algirithm is biased towards products that are sold by amazon. A lot of their products are foreign made.
