Fanta 5,019 Posted August 26, 2020 Share Posted August 26, 2020 I know y'all get on my case because of my opinions but I do love Gaga and want to see her succeed and pull everything off perfectly. Since the Chromatica era launched I have been more active on Twitter and I noticed this trend in praising all female artists and very blatantly leaving Gaga out. Multiple fanbases have done this, and besides the pettiness and whatnot I don't get what I missed since Joanne? LM's aren't even as prominent anymore, considering there are much bigger fanbases today (it's normal, different eras). Is it just a petty way of dismissing her success over their faves? Do they just strongly dislike her? I personally think it's because she does not cater to stan culture the way most of the current artists do, but that's just me. All I'm saying is, I don't remember stan culture being this toxic many years ago. I had to unfollow a lot of Gaga fan accounts just because the responses and arguments were extremely toxic. She was kind of using this hate for her rise too. As long as no, noone else received that negativity for being different. I've had my fair share of controversy here but I got lots of replies because everyone was dragging me At the end of the day even though we criticize her (constructively for the most part) we're still fans and invest time/money in her. The hate on Twitter was strong, it was so nasty I had to block accounts. Ultimately I do think that the fact that Gaga gets that much success infuriates younger fans of other artists.
