A R T P O P 545 Posted August 26, 2020 Share Posted August 26, 2020 I tolerated her earlier stuff but I got into her when she released TFM as it's a solid, timeless collection of immaculately-produced pop. However, the actual song that cemented my LOVE for her was Heavy Metal Lover. It is excellent. The other thing I was really impressed with was that Marry The Night and Highway Unicorn end with the same chord sequence, which brings a level of cohesion to Born This Way which you don't see on pop albums. I didn’t love JD or PF on first listen, but I have a distinct memory of Lovegame coming on in the car with my mom and LOVING it. I think it was the dark sexual undertones, but whatever it was I LOVED that song so much.
