Inspiration for the Chromatica tribe concept?

...  I think I kinda remember what the Chromatica Tribe concept reminds me a little of (..been bugging me for a while!)

Back in 1999(!!), The Tribe was a science fiction drama TV series which premiered on Channel 5 in the UK.

Primarily aimed at teenagers, The Tribe is set in a post-apocalyptic city in which all adults have been killed as the result of an unknown virus*. The series focuses on the remaining children and teenagers who must navigate the social and personal issues of adolescence, while being faced with the larger problems of a society in a state of anarchy. The inhabitants of the city form social groups, or tribes, with the focus of the series on the Mall Rats, who fight to survive among other threatening tribes such as the Locos. Overarching themes include the focus on change from tradition, empowerment, religion, and the exploration of power and corruption

*kinda scary in these times, huh? :O

What do you think? Could it be small part of the inspiration (maybe even indirectly?). Are there other known Tribe concepts that could have contributed?
Given Chromatica's 90's House throwback style, could this also be a throwback?

The Technos and those circles on their faces :wtfga: This is it! And The Ecos and that "hat" looks just like some insect feelers.

That's a very good point made.

I also find the concept of Chromatica to be an antithesis of Mad Max: Fury Road where we have various tribes fighting in a post-apocalyptic world. I haven't seen the previous Mad Max films so I don't know if this tribes thing is a recurring structure throughout the Mad Max series which has been there for decases.
