I'm a sci-fi nerd and I'm curious which of these big movies you'd pick as your fav SciFi movie

There's such a massive list of iconic SciFi movies and unfortunately poll only allows 10 options so I had to try to pick the biggest ones I could think of

Other honourable mentions:

I Robot

Lost In Space

Event Horizon

In Time

Tron

Sphere

Cube

Circle

Lockout

Total Recall

War Of The Worlds

Pendorum

Ex-machina

I Am Mother

TAU

Prometheus

Arrival

Marshan

Minority Report

Cloverfield Paradox

Oblivion

And so many more but these are the ones that come to mind right now :messga:

Oh many of those are amongst my favorite movies ever. Interstellar, Back To The Future, Inception, The Matrix, all masterpieces. I’ll give it to Interestellar tho. That was incredible to watch at the movie theater.

Does the first Alien movie (Alien) count under Aliens? Aliens is the sequel but the original is imo the best sci-fi movie ever.

Can be any of them

Just like the matrix also has 3.

I'll allow sequels and trilogies to be lumped together

I love E.T the most out of all of those listed.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

I love Sci-Fi growing up until the genre becomes more and more dystopian-based. I remember watching Back To The Future and be in awe of what the future could look like....or even The Fifth Element where we can see how it would be like to cohabitate with aliens in space.

I'm between Interestellar and Back to the Future but maybe this second one it's more because of its nostalgia

Interestellar is top notch one of the best sci-fi space related movies ever made, all its scientific background, pleasing visuals and also a great  psychologic thriller-ish story is beyond tbh but what else can we expect from Nolan! he's a Genius

also big shot out to Star Wars, I'm ahuge fan of the sata

... and now i just sit in silence.

The fact that I forgot 5th element and the hunger games :fail:

I will add it to honourable mentions but the hunger Games should have been in the poll :triggered:

picked interstellar. that movie was great. particularly bc it used real scientific principles (like the part about time dilation, and that interesting planetary system where the giant planet revolved around a black hole??? i forget the details.)

from your honorable mentions, i really liked arrival, war of the worlds (the tom cruise one), and sphere. (though regarding sphere, i really liked the book and i don't really remember how i liked the movie).

yea, the Hunger Games is something most people will remember. It's too dystopian for my liking, but I like the drama of it. Not to mention the action aspect.

The 5th Element is something I was very captured by when I was a kid. I kinda almost forgot Total Recall but you reminded me. There's something about the 80s/90s Sci-Fi movies that looks slick and stylish. I guess that's why they make a bigger impression on me than the ones that come after.
