Well yeah but look at the reviews for Teenage Dream and Prism, when she was on top in terms of popularity. Critics have just never seemed to like her. Even now that they’re more lenient towards pop artists.

I hardly keep track on metacritic scores except for the first few weeks whenever a new Gaga album came out and then I forget all about it after. Guest
Wow, what is it these days with critics starting some sort of hate train to artists who release one commercial failure album and the continue to bash them? Katy Perry was/is one of the main pop girls of the 2010's! Her work should not be discredited because of one mishap.

zakariah 11,724
honestly, I already expected bad reviews, all her albums have been no different, but it wouldn't sway me from listening to it and maybe even loving it, from the stuff i've heard, i'm liking the album already
FentyGa 14,340
i mean, i believe that i’ll probably enjoy it, but i doubt it’ll be anything interesting or special katy would really have to switch things up to catch peoples’ interest

No joke, now that she’s becoming a mother she could buy and rework the songs her friend Adele scrapped before ‘25’ (she said they were about being a mother). Sweep the Grammys Katheryn!!! But I find it boring when critics compare current work to an artist's previous work I guess. And Katy has never really changed her sound. Why is this relevant criticism now? Also, I LOVE the fact that Chromatica (for me) sounds like Gaga previous work. I think the magic here is.. gaga changed and had dif genr style eras (joanne, cheeck to cheek, a star is born) so chromatica feels fresh even if is the old gaga sound. katy didnt change that much I guess.. but.. b4 every katycat try to drag me im so excited for teary eyes and I love her since Witness. so s y f u kindest regards
