FfFfFfFF 58,083
Growing up in a greener urban environment boosts children’s intelligence and lowers levels of difficult behaviour, a study has found. The analysis of more than 600 children aged 10-15 showed a 3% increase in the greenness of their neighbourhood raised their IQ score by an average of 2.6 points. The effect was seen in both richer and poorer areas. There is already significant evidence that green spaces improve various aspects of children’s cognitive development but this is the first research to examine IQ. The cause is uncertain but may be linked to lower stress levels, more play and social contact or a quieter environment. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/aug/24/children-raised-greener-areas-higher-iq-study

Sister 9,907
I can completely see this. If one is ever feeling down or even worse, it is highly stimulating to go outside and physically lay down in the grass and mediate on the nature that you are a part of. Seriously, it feels invigorating and healing. Put one's bare feet on the bare earth and let it awaken your soul, you'll appreciate the reset. Go stand out in the rain. Gaga would after all~ #RainOnMe The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Lona Delery 7,227
ive got my opinion about why IQ is a bad way to assess intelligence, but a difference of 2.6 with the error margin of +/-10 for IQ tests is absolutely nothing Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

Doot 2
I believe it. I live in a city but even going on vacations to places that are full of greenery and mountains, etc, it just feels different inside.
