Lover scored several accolades, including a nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards; the singles "You Need to Calm Down" and "Lover" were nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year, respectively. The album's visuals received 12 nominations at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, winning three: Video of the Year, Video for Good and Best Visual Effects. Lover further won the Favorite Pop/Rock Album at the American Music Awards of 2019 and Album of the Year at the 45th People's Choice Awards.
