James Gunn: 'The Suicide Squad' is the biggest movie I've ever made

I know James Gunn tweeted some really upsetting stuff like ten years ago, but he's still an amazing director nonetheless and apologised for them. Considering how successful and acclaimed Guardians of the Galaxy (and 2.0) were, it's huge that he calls The Suicide Squad the biggest movie he's ever made (1:32), at 1:46 he said it's the most exciting journey of his life.

Much of the cast also praised how unexpected this movie is gonna look, and claimed it's very different from other superhero movies, which is typical of Gunn's approach. I'm very optimistic about this tbh.

He need to sell it somehow, to pique people's interest and excitement, that's why he said why he said here. Especially with notorious image from the first Suicide Squad movie, and again with the Birds Of Prey just few montgs ago.

I am sure he knows Guardians is actual biggest movie he ever handled.

A lot of people liked Birds of Prey so I wouldn't call it the unmitigated disaster that the first SS was lol

He might have meant biggest in scale which I'm inclined to believe. The principle cast for this movie is pretty decently larger than Guardians so consequently the rest of the movie would be as well.

I actually thought this looked decently promising so I'll give it a watch if it goes into theaters. Probably not if it is only seen at home for streaming, though.

COOOK

Wait so this is a re-interpretation? A remake? Spinoff? It's certainly not a continuation of the 2016 one if the title's still "The Suicide Squad" right?
Also, Pete Davidson? I'm so lost :saladga:

Birds of Prey was actually a critical success, it did underperform commercially though.

Anyway, just because someone is talking about their product doesn't mean they can't compliment it tho. Saying things like 'biggest movie/most exciting journey of my life' puts it on a pedestal above his past filmography, that still means something.

It's not like he said "Oh the film is gonna be cool and interesting' which would actually be too vague to mean anything.
