Imagine - this would be SO typical of the luck this era. I imagine this would be one of the performances that they’d be most eager to keep though.

Still only seems like speculation to me. Imagine the mess of the VMAs having to go back on announcements? Maybe they will just arrange for some of the artists to do home performances instead of at their stage.

Gaga is their biggest name as of now and I'm sure MTV will try their best to keep her. At first they only said multiple stages across NYC, but now it includes LA too. Her dancers and band are quarantined and Richy is very hyped at the performance. Plus Gaga hyped the performance yesterday.

However if things go down, I can see Gaga doing a pre recorded tape and just accepting awsrds from her home. Or worst case scenario, MTV postpones or cancel.

The fact that the Haus is "sequestering for 3 days" as Jonny said in IG, since yesterday, means they're trying. The fact that LA is flopping their reopening all summer and has yet to level off at all since March, means EVERYTHING is still tenuous and dangerous.

I guess it's just a rumor, but I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. And what did they expect tbh. The whole thing seemed ill advised from the get go when they announced it would be held at Barclays.
