2School4Cool 6,434 Posted August 20, 2020 Share Posted August 20, 2020 I love opening lyrics that instantly take you into the theme of the album in some way: “Could you pull me out of this alive?” instantly pulls you into her struggles and the fact that she wants to heal herself. “I was born inside a small town...” -Divide by Ed Sheeran, it’s a very personal album and instantly begins on a personal note, as if beginning a biography. “Tonight, I just want to take you higher, throw your hands up in the sky, let’s set this party off right” -24K Magic by Bruno Mars, it instantly takes you into the party atmosphere. “I’m gonna marry the night, I won’t give up on my life” instantly brings up the self-love message of BTW. “I think I just lost my husband, I don’t know where he went” -Funhouse by P!nk, instantly sets the tone for the album, dealing with splitting from her husband.
